Thomas Greiss retires

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Had some interesting mask designs.

His political views re:Germany were so abhorrent that the Germany national team banned him from playing. The fact that his masks had Nazi-ish symbolism (the SS on that mask above, for example) on them could probably tell you what those views were.

I saw a screaming monkey and the Grand Canyon. Was there more?

I believe the “screaming monkey“ is supposed to be Nosferatu/Dracula. Or maybe Bigfoot, given the shadow on the opposite side. But the Nazi symbolism comes from the way he’s styled the “SS” in Greiss along the bottom of his mask. As a German, he should know full well what SS in that style stand for. His other mask with the Wings also had some imagery that was coincidentally Nazi-ish

Holy reach lol. I guess he’s lucky his last name ends in ss.

I dunno I'd maybe trust the opinion and perspective of the German National team more than SI90 on HFBoards.
If you show me something concrete that he’s racist and supports that I’ll be all for him being denounced. But to my knowledge he was only an outspoken republican and he was against Hilary Clinton. That’s not enough to condemn and label someone.

If he's a Nazi, and hates Hillary Clinton, why would he like a post comparing Hillary to Hitler?

Just sounds like he's your garden variety MAGA type.

Here's a story in German about it:

I mean...he didn't have to stylize it that way or use that font. Not that he'd come out and say it was intentional but that plus the red/black/white mask design seem to be pretty close, mainly because as a German he should be able to see how people might perceive it that way.

Not sure if people remember this, but when Stutzle first joined the Senators he initially picked 88 and then changed numbers fairly abruptly. I don't think it ever came out why he switched (Sens fans can maybe correct me if I'm wrong) but to me it seemed like he realized that 88 probably wasn't the best choice. Same kinda thing and to me at least Stutzle changed before it was perceived as an issue, but maybe it was an entirely different reason.

My point is that the German team likely has more information and context than what we have. They had interactions and presumably some sort of a relationship with him and made the decision they made. I'd trust their decision and actions over speculation on the internet.

Sorry sir. Your common sense has no place here

Keep your eyes closed. Don’t look.

Not sure what this has to do with me or why you quoted me.

Why don't you actually read the story I posted and tell me what you think it says.

Google Translate works fine. I grew up in Germany and the translation suffices.

Basically they show examples of rather violent Pro-Trump and anti-Clinton posts that he's liked on Instagram.

That's what they mean by political messaging which the German national team doesn't agree with.
