I get that and I’ll take the points but I’m looking big picture here ..

How many of us called for; expected Strome to be dealt ? How many were shocked he’s still here ?
But yet he’s a guy we’re waiting on.

Lafrenniere is a pro player but let’s break it down ;
He’s not an elite skater - he’s not overly big or a hitter and he doesn’t show he’s got a great shot .
This is why I said earlier this summer try him at center because he’s a playmaker.
Because no wingers are playmakers?

I hope Kakko isn’t concussed.
I get all of that, but even still most any rational person would say wait till ten games in to start forming judgements on a team w a new coach.

Maybe they will suck all year and finish bottom 10, but they might actually be growing some spine winning games they shouldn't be for a change. Last year this is a game they would've lost, but they found a way to win...

We put our eggs into the Chytil basket and dumped Buchenvich- a true blue dynamite two way stud who jumped on Tom Wilson to save Panarin.

Let that linger like Rick Middleton - Ridley - Miller - McDonagh.

Make no mistake - we got blown off the ice tonite - it was Tortarella rope a dope Rick nash and the Miracles era hockey again .

it’s awful on the eye - it’s awful on the goalie and team in general .

We are playing Playoff hockey in Game 4 you know why ? Because we can’t matchup.

We are slower than years past …

We are still small in key situations- we don’t have a crease clearer and our “ top offensive guys “ are finesse oriented.

HOW CAN CHRIS DRURY PUT THE FANBASE THROUGH ANOTHER YEAR OF FACEOFF EMBARRASSMENT?? How !!!!

Wait until we play the Islanders & flyers and we go 20% wins in the dots.

I get gallant likes hitting but what else ?

This team is overflowing with cockroaches

McKegg
Rooney
Reaves
Blais
Tinordi
Gauthier ( my god does he suck )

There’s no goals there ! None !

Lafrenniere let’s call it like it is - he’s extremely unimpressive - I have yet to see one trait that says ah yes I see a #1 overall - Sorry I don’t .
Hope I’m wrong but he’s closer to a Josh Bailey career path than a Superstar.

Jacob Trouba - he’s Connor Williams on skates - an absolute drive killer.
I don’t trust him @ all - never did.

You can get mad at me / fine - but I’m writing this AFTER A WIN.
Igor’s heroics are masquerading our massive problems.

Despite all the prospect collecting all the charts that say we are top 5 prospects…

Where’s our Mathew’s Marner Nylander ?

Tell me

There is so much wrong with this post I don't know where to begin. 2-1-1 with a new coach, new system, and playing 4 games in last 6 nights with 3 on the road and with some key guys being out of the lineup. They were dominated in the 2nd period tonight outshot 17-2 and were dominated on faceoffs. Overall not a good game but the 1st and 3rd were pretty even periods. Shesty stole one. Thats a good thing because there will be games where we will outplay teams and lose. Welcome to the NHL. Any points right now are good. They are neither boring or top heavy. The bottom 6 is head and shoulders better than last year. Reaves, Blais, and Rooney are good bottom 6 players who know their role. They also have some elite forwards, a Norris trophy winning Dman and a potential young outstanding goalie. We have a coach who knows what he is doing and they have won games against Toronto and Montreal that they would have lost last year. They haven't come up small, actually quite the opposite. Laf just turned 20, Kakko is ready to take the next step. They have plenty of young talent on the team and on the farm. Kravs should be on this team but he has himself to blame for that. Your post is so wrong on so many levels.

I mean am I wrong folks ?

And we lost plenty of these on the other side with AV and Quinn. "Some good looks"

Its the National Hockey League. We played 2 Canadian teams that played in empty buildings last year.

Maybe its time to give a little credit to Strome because he lengthens our lineup.

Hate to break it to you, the bottom 6 is what makes it or breaks it come playoff time. Every top team has top line and talent in the top 6. The teams that go the farthest can rely on their grinders to contribute. Goodrow, Cirelli, Coleman didn't put up the numbers Point did in the playoffs, but without them they aren't getting past the muckers of Boston and NYI.

Just wait until we fly down to Nashville and then BACK to Canada to finish the road trip. Getting a point against Ottawa will be robbery.

We have played the most games in the league, are missing two of our top 6 forwards and just beat a team who will most likely be atop the league standings and still complaining about the team tonight? Get a grip man. They looked pretty bad tonight but with who we played and everything surrounding it I’ll take the 2 points anyday.

We traded Buch because we couldn't pay him 6 million per in a flat cap and still having to pay Mika, Fox, Laf, Kakko etc. What is so hard to understand about this?

Agree 1000% also what are people expecting this year?? To a win a cup?? We are taking steps towards that but we aren’t planning on wining a cup this year. Hell, even the organization has stated making the playoffs isn’t even the necessary. I know they want to but still. We have played the Caps, Dallas. All who are expected to make deep runs and the leafs who are arguable expected to win the cup or at least get that close. Of course we aren’t looking too hot. But somehow we managed to pull out some points while we are working a new system, have some key injuries and have a few new players working into the lineup. Give..it..time…

You just agreed with almost every point I made except for Laff.

Because you don’t like my glass half empty take doesn’t mean I’m wrong.

Laff is 20 - right now he’s a concern .

The fact we HAVE NO CAPTAIN IS RIDICULOUS.

The FACEOFF issue is beyond absurd- FACEOFF ARE hockey. You gain control - set the tempo , pin the opponent etc …

even if we’re 9-4-2 - I’ll still feel the same because this cast has too many stiffs.

I’m looking for change sorry I don’t see it.

Maybe we overrated our talent pool.

Wrong

We fired an entire regime - good people like JD good talent evaluation guys like Gorton - TO WIN SOON.
We hired Gallant we got Goodrow and a cast of rough players .

The Bossman wants results - he wants a tough group - he wants a Knicks like turn around.

Listen - anyone who thinks it’s still wait a bit time doesn’t know Jim Dolan abs hasn’t been paying attention.

What? I actually disagreed with your entire post except faceoffs. This team is playing sloppy because it's only game 4 of the season and other reasons which I explained in my previous post. This team is playing differently than last year without a doubt. Give it time. Geez.

You dump Strome you sign goodrow to an absurd deal .
Capice?

How do you know they didn't try to trade Strome and didn't get the deal that they wanted. If they traded Strome for pennies you would be bitching about that too. Goodrow was a good signing and a type of player that this team needed. Maybe a little overpriced but still a good player. Again, 4 games.

Exactly. I really do SMH at some takes on here.

they've looked bad in every game so far. Different levels of bad but still bad. Thankful for getting these points but it won't matter in the long run if they don't get things going.

What did u expect with a new coach, new system, and 1/3 of the roster new? Did you expect them to not struggle in the short term. Not to mention playing 4 games in 6 nights and 3 of them on the road. It takes time. They also didn't look bad against Dallas. They fell behind 2-0 but outplayed them over the last 2 periods and actually should have had 2 points. Just saying.

Good people like JD and gorton? I mean if laf and kakko are bust isn’t it on them. Didn’t he draft them? Didn’t gorton let Mactruck go for nothing ?? And throw in Miller for shits and giggles?? Oh yes JT Miller, that guy would look reallllll good on This team, heard he wins faceoffs too.
It’s like how money months into Durys run. How may games??? We don’t have a covid season. We actually get to play some crappy teams and not a stacked metro. Let this team build confidence learn the new system and new guys. Then, maybe, maybe we can start screaming. I know you watched ALOT of Rangers hockey thought out your life but why jump on “ this team is doomed” train. It hasn’t been good but I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen so far.
