it’s awful on the eye - it’s awful on the goalie and team in general .

We are playing Playoff hockey in Game 4 you know why ? Because we can’t matchup.

We are slower than years past …

We are still small in key situations- we don’t have a crease clearer and our “ top offensive guys “ are finesse oriented.

I see a win, period. Maybe even a win that gets the team all amped up and excited. Of course they didn’t “deserve” this win. But sometimes you need this kinda of win to get the ball rolling.
I agree with the “McKegg” hunt and even Gauthier players being pluggers. No doubt about it the don’t belong here. lets see what happens when we are healthy.

He's not wrong about the faceoffs. If they don't somehow fix it especially on the special teams it's gonna be a difference of double digit goals and probably a playoff spot.
Still have faith that the bottom 6 will be miles ahead of our bottom 6 last season.
And Lafreniere hasn't been even close to number 1 overall impressive but hoping he can gel with someone eventually and start producing.

It’s true yes this is a win but if we play like this 10 games in a row we will be we lose by 5 goals probably 7.

Agreed, we are absolutely dreadful to watch. We looked so much more dynamic last year, we look as boring as we have in YEARS. We went out and got all this grit and what did we show for it against Washington? There wasn’t even a single fight, and we lose to boot. The team last year (with all our toughest guys in Lindgren, Trouba, Kreider out) showed more heart than it did this year after losing so much talent in favor of “grit”.

That player you’re talking about; the Matthews/Nylander/Marner… well we had one in Kravtsov. Kakko & Laf are both so vanilla for such high draft picks; they have no flash to their game. Kravtsov has that flare that top picks have.

Also Goodrow has been absolutely awful.

OP isn't wrong. Second period was an atrocity for the ages. Lots of tinkering to do to get line chemistry and someone who can work with Panarin and Strome.

Laf will not bust out until his skating improves, it is absolutely holding him back at this level...

This team does just feel like a collection of assets with upside, not so much a cohesive team that's strategically assembled.

I get that and I’ll take the points but I’m looking big picture here ..

How many of us called for; expected Strome to be dealt ? How many were shocked he’s still here ?
But yet he’s a guy we’re waiting on.

Lafrenniere is a pro player but let’s break it down ;
He’s not an elite skater - he’s not overly big or a hitter and he doesn’t show he’s got a great shot .
This is why I said earlier this summer try him at center because he’s a playmaker.

I hope Kakko isn’t concussed.
