We got 49 points in the first 41 games last year and 53 in the second so yeah we were better in the back half. We have been every year for a while now.

Let's add further context- what was Bob's save % in those games? Did the opposition goalie make those saves? What were the expected goals in those games?

I mean, your whole argument is that the Oilers lost because Bob stopped the Oilers best shooters- and this is somehow a defense of Skinner? Makes no sense.

McDavid has as many points in his first Stanley Cup Final as Crosby does in his first two Cup Final series wins combined (despite playing in 9 fewer games)

It would be hard to not be better in the 2nd half in that case because they started freaking 2-9-1 or whatever that was and were 2nd last in the league at one point.

We lost 4/5 last games going into the playoffs last year.

The goaltending Pittsburgh had is the difference between having 3 Cups versus 0.

Colorado and Tampa play hockey so it's not Stuarts fault
Stuart is 2-9-2 against the top 10 teams with an .870 save % so that makes him a 1A

I think he just plain likes Stuart- which he is completely free to do. Any other argument is not supported by facts

I honestly don't know how many Gretzky even would have if you remove Fuhr and give them like a 25th best goalie in the league + remove Kurri and Anderson say (still has Messier and Coffey).

They still lost in 83 to the Islanders and 86 to the Flames and damn near to the Flyers in 87, so it's not like they were invincible, you take away those pieces, I think maybe you get 1 Cup, 2 max, but definitely not 4.

What McDavid is being asked to do is so much harder than any of these other guys.

That’s why I don’t get why anybody can defend Skinner still. The Oilers are a top team. The defense has been relatively fine despite still needing a legitimate top four d man too. But goaltending? Holy f***. The fact that skinner can’t even be average is just stunning. Even average goaltending nets this team more wins and points right now.
