I don't know if we were watching the same game... I thought we were lucky to even get a point.
I suffered through the Toronto game the night before. Tonight was a marked improvement on that one.

AnimalAlso, hell of a game by Smith. He's going to be so valuable come playoff time.
On the other side, I have no clue why we're still playing Cole over Chatfield
Which is it, we always lose to teams we should beat or we feast on weak competition? We haven’t been great lately but the course of the entire season so far suggests we’re easily a top 5 team (tied for 2nd, 1st in the East right now). No reason to overreact. We will get TDA back and possibly some deadline acquisition(s). Are there concerns? Sure. But no more than any other team this year.Ugh.
Whatever, points a point but this hasn't been a good week for the team. Not beating playoff teams is a problem, can't feast on weak competition all day.
That's the biggest reason I wanted us to go after Gio. We need someone that can hold the fort down on PP2.We will get TDA back but this only reminds us that this team is one more injury away from an inept PP and having teams be able to take penalties without fear of repercussions.
That’s a bad place to be in the playoffs. Another PP QB would help a lot but doesn’t seem to be a focus.

He should get at least a game. Anyone swinging their stick as a weapon should get at least a game. It was beyond stupid what he did.Looks like Nino has a hearing coming for slashing the Caps player on the bench. Hopefully just a fine but a dumb move on his part looking at the video so a game wouldn’t surprise me.
On top of not playing our best as of late and having key guys out of action, Im not impressed with our self-destructive lack of good judgement at times. I appreciate competitive juices flowing in a game like this, but we have seen it be the demise of us late in games with the results hanging in the balance. Rod needs to address this internally and tone down the "NHL is against us" rhetoric. Officiating is sketchy at best, and all teams can make a case of how unfair it is, but some self-reflection is in order for the Canes.Looks like Nino has a hearing coming for slashing the Caps player on the bench. I don't either and that was the spirit of my previous comment. I believe most of our discipline issues are self-inflicted (looking at Svech, Tro and Cole specifically) and we should direct our angst where it should properly go. As I mentioned in a previous post, penalties had direct impacts on all three losses to the Caps this season. We can debate which ones are legit or BS, but the fact stands its a gut punch to have them decide the game. Ive been patient and quiet about it all season but Im at my wits end over it. Gotta do better. Otherwise we can keep helping Ovi and the TB Lightning rack up PPGs.I don't buy into the nhl being against the canes
Nino did a naughty. Personally I think he should be suspended for missing that open net.Nino apparently talking to DoPS for his slash
Washington just matches up well with this group. I was very proud of the guys in the first period. Kotka levelled Wilson and there was another very big hit at him, too. But Overall Caps were in control. 1 point is good, while the win was close, too. Aho and Tuirbo have something going on. They are playing very bad at the moment. Did Turbo poke Aho's girlfriend, or something?
