I don’t care what the record says, Igor is the only reason we’re even above .500.

We’re getting dominated by bad teams, our top guys aren’t performing, our lottery picks aren’t performing, our special teams aren’t performing, and we’re simply being outcoached.

There have only been 1 or 2 games this season that we’ve legitimately deserved to win, and it’s been a pain to watch, despite the wins.

It’s disappointing the lack of production we are getting 5v5.

Panarin, Zibanejad and Strome will get it going. They have history of being able to get it going.

I’m concerned about the other guys - Lafreniere, Kakko and Chytil. NYR need those guys to take a leap, if they want to be something. If they can’t, then they’ll go as far as shot suppression and Igor take them.

I can't stand the negativity from Giants fans but they've been the worst team in the league for 5 years and are 2-6. Threads like this here make me not want to come to this board. Just f***ing putrid. I'm sure you'd be celebrating if we were 2-6-1 and dominating every game. Oh no you'd be bitching.

Weird timing to complain about what you have above when literally the top players have the 2 goals, both on the PP. And the PK has been perfect thus far.

Yeah weird time to complain and call the team bad.

Also, record still matters a whole lot.

"What have you done for me in the past two hours" isn't a good way to scope things out. I feel like most people feel very uneasy about how discombobulated this team has been so far this season.

The past few seasons, there were many games where it was "we're not playing terribly, we just aren't talented/experienced enough," but this season it feels more like "we're playing terribly, but the talent of a select few players is pulling us through it".

Discombobulated?

They have an identity. They forecheck hard. They take the body. They PK very well. They have great goaltending.

Their top players and their PP has struggled. They are still very young.

And yet they are still 5-2-2 to this point. They still get credit for drafting Igor.

It’s very concerning. You want to preach patience, especially when looking at the record and the personnel who haven’t gotten going, but aside from Bread, you start to wonder if there’s any guarantee any of them DO get going.

Fox is Fox. God tier.
Lindy is Lindy. He rides shotgun, does it well, no complaints.
Trouba and Miller have been fairly good too.
Kreider has been good to start, for sure happy to see him show up.
Bread has been getting warmer and warmer and is at point per game now.

Everyone else?

Mika’s head is so far up his ass it’s frightening. Strome is only a little bit less bad. Kakko continues to look good but it’s year 3 of no production now. #2OA is developing into Goodrow. Great. Chytil… time is almost up my dude. Lafreniere? What’s the excuse? Unanimous #1OA. Showing very little. Can’t blame covid schedule, lack of preseason, adjusting to NHL.

Goodrow, Blais, Rooney, Hunt, Reaves all are what they are. Whatever. They aren’t hurting us, but they’re not gonna put points on the board. They’ve been satisfying in their roles.

Fox, Panarin and Kreider cannot be the entirety of our offense. I will be very surprised if any of Chytil, Laf or KK reaches 40 points this season at this rate. That’s GOT to be concerning.

Also GG has us playing more of a team game but his lines give the impression he has no grasp of the players he’s working with. The combos suck.

I dont care how you feel, this is a joke of a thread to start halfway through a game youre winning 2-0 at the time of. Ridiculous

Posts like these make me question a whether you guys actually watch the game or just watch the scoreboard. Look at that, Igor stopped being the greatest goaltender of all time for two minutes and we’ve lost the lead. It was inevitable.

This team is hot garbage, and you're delusional.

I'm a diehard fan, but at least I'm not blinded by it.
I’m delusional? The team is hot garbage at 5-2-2? Hot garbage?

You can be a “diehard fan” and also be an assclown at the same time, they’re not mutually exclusive

The worst "5-2-2" team of all time. I'm surprised we've won a game, honestly.
Haha okay.

What a spoiled brat, which is impressive considering you have probably witnessed maybe one cup in your lifetime, maybe one.

Keeping the receipts from the clown crew of crybabies.

I have not witnessed a single Cup in my 26 years of life, which makes this garbage even more infuriating. Of all the teams I've witnessed since I started watching in 03-04, this may be the most disappointing.

The Problem is that this team doesn't have a single good center. Rooney has been our most complete center. Zib, Strome and Chytil are just bad.
