Rumor: Things Not Left Unsaid: Flyers Rumors & Media Mentions

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.

Can't wait to see the prospect they targeted.

I know everyone wants these deals done asap, but part of me wants these done on Wednesday at the draft so I can hear Chuck's analysis.

Chuck having to explain why Briere essentially traded every player he had a big hand in bringing in or extending recently.

Also this trade wouldn't crack the top 3 for biggest in the Homer era, much less all time franchise history.
But if consummated, will be different than any other trade this franchise has ever made. It’s profoundly different because they’re trading for futures, not to get better now. Even the Richards-Carter trades were merely a modest step back to get cap space while getting NHL-ready players and better in the very near future. This is wholly different for this franchise: the first true implosion with a goal of being something better in 3-5 years.

Come on, gimme the oh face. It’s appropriate in this case.

Sunk cost. Cut Chuck's losses.
Yep. 10 years of futility, buried in the past.
But that's how you turn around a team, dump the bad contracts, pick up draft picks and move on.
Rip off the band-aid.

Briere trying to get rid of all these contracts just one year after Fletcher handed them out.

I think Ristolainen is the one player he won't be able to move though. That contract is so bad that even the Canucks won't touch it.
Give Shaw another season to work on him, and 3x5 isn't that hard to move for a physical RHD, take back a 2x3 contract for a D-man they want to dump.

So out: Hayes, Sanheim, TDA

In: 29 overall, Carolina prospect, sometbing for krug

About 5-6 mil retained.

I guess thats good? Its very meh but i guess its the best he could get. Subtraction is definitely a theme.

Couldve gotten a lot more for sanny at the tdl if fletcher didnt extend him.

Got to be more than that, St Louis only has $7M and change in cap room, Hayes retained will still cost $3-4M Krug/Sanheim balance each other.
So has to be another bad contract headed the Flyers way.
