I dont really get the appeal of Pinto. He scores less than Dvorak. Do we really need another 40-50 pt center?

Cozens is a little more interesting...especially if Risto is part of it.

Cozens might be worth it. I like him. He's not as skilled as Matthews or Larkin or Barzal, but knowing how the Flyers will f*** up the 21st overall, it might not be awful.

Cozens is solid, can be used as a 2C with good wingers. He’s very effective on the pp.

Pinto is very good defensively and can be used in a shutdown role, put him with the right wings and he can probably get you 25 goals and 50 points.

If the cost for either one of them is Risto plus a pick that they’ll likely f*** up anyway, I’m good with that.

A normal coach would just use Zegras and Cozens/Pinto as his top 6 centers, but we have Taco.

Risto was fine. He was asked to take on a much bigger role than he should have, including playing over 25 minutes a night in the playoffs. Despite that, he still produced at roughly a half-point-per-game pace in the postseason. His stock has definitely gone up.

Small sample and any NHL GM who is looking at Ristolainen for his offensive point contribution should be immediately fired.

Here is the issue. Lets say it does happen and they get Pinto for Ristolainen. This is how the Flyers screw up. A 25 year old Pinto, with about the same offense and finished 6th in Selke voting plus the future assets that they should've gotten by trading Dvorak instead of re-signing him. Signing Devorak for one year, elevating his ice time and production, then trading for a future asset makes some sense although I prefer draft picks. Signing him to 5 year deal because you're so afraid to get stuck, equals incompetence. They have no future vision.

We would feel freaking awesome. Oh yeah, because teams just hand out gifts like this all the time. Are you kidding? There’s no chance this trade happens.

I didn’t understand the urgency on Dvorak. Same with Vladar. Same with Hathaway

This is the same management group that keeps saying you can’t fall in love with players yet they keep doing it.
