Rumor: Things Not Left Unsaid 3 - Flyers Rumors and Media Mentions: Never Ending Circles

Risto is here for the long haul. They will re-sign him, because they envisioned themselves back in the playoffs as soon as this year and "he's the type of RHD teams covet for the playoffs"...

"We get excited about trading him and thinking about the kind of return we can get, but I'm not shopping him, I'm not trying to get rid of him," Briere said. "He's a big asset for us and it would be a big hole if we ever have to lose him. I really don't know where it's going, but I can tell you, I'm not shopping him. I did receive some calls on him."

I will be very happy if the above was all a lie and Risto is finally off this team and eager to see the diminished returns when compared to what it cost to initially acquire him + years of tutelage.
this shit Org. is 100% triple downing on Risto..

expect a extension...

If you believe everything you hear, it takes months to trade a third line player. In the NBA, you need to be in MENSA to figure that shit out and it takes like 3 days to move superstars among 4 teams with only 2 rounds of a draft that restricts how often you can trade picks

A good reminder that the NHL is mostly run by lazy retired hobbyists

A year ago we were getting told it didn't make sense for other teams to trade for Risto because there wasn't enough practice time to integrate him.
It's not surprising he's injured again. Since Fletcher traded for him, he's only played in 225 games out of 303, which is 74%.

Ellis is at 1.3%.

And for all the hyping about how he's "fixed" it sure doesn't matter much when he's out and nobody besides the TV crew ever tries to pretend it does.

The team that trades for him has to be desperate or dumb. I doubt the viability of rumors about him.
