They still believe they are a premier spot for FAs...don't realize they have to build that back up
I honestly don't dislike Pelletier in a vacuum. If we traded a mid round pick for him I'd be ok with it. The problem is who went to the Flames in the deal. If the deal was Farabee for Pelletier and a first and then Frost got traded for something like a mid rounder or two I probably wouldn't be that upset. The problem is it was Farabee AND Frost for a throwaway pick, a throwaway player, Pelletier, and a second. I generally don't have a problem trading pretty much anyone on the roster to tank and accumulate assets. Even if the trades aren't great as long as they are forward thinking it really isn't the end of the world. But when the trade hurts short and long term wtf are we doing?

If Cates was on the team 10-15-20 years ago he'd probably be favorably viewed here the same way guys like Raffl and Read were. Unfortunately he's borderline being played and marketed as a premier player. There are a lot of players on this team I would like in a vacuum or if they were recognized by the team at their true talent level - Cates and Tippett in particular.
The Tippett deal is fair to even good.
Frost was the cost of dumping Farabee and not having to retain any salary. No one in the league wanted Farabee at his entire contract.
You think Frost and Farabee were valued around the league?
This board is the only place that thinks those two guys had a lot of value.
The thing is, with one very notable exception that had the Sabres laughing (almost literally), the Sabres who leave Buffalo do find the grass greener.
Anyone with a clue can see Andrae will be better than Drysdale.
What is going to shock people is Andrae will be better than York.
I mean they’re not apples to apples unless the visa thing was mostly made up.Eric Francis just buried the Flyers on the Flames broadcast for it taking a week to get Pelletier and Kuzmenko into town, compared to the Flames sending their private jet (with Craig Conroy on it) to whisk away Frost and Farabee.
Let Eric Francis cook. Flyers have earned their scorn justified or not. Maybe if enough people in hockey circles shit on them they'll finally wake up.I mean they’re not apples to apples unless the visa thing was mostly made up.

I heard that, lol. This example might not be the best but the Flyers appear to be a laughing stock among NHL circles these days.Eric Francis just buried the Flyers on the Flames broadcast for it taking a week to get Pelletier and Kuzmenko into town, compared to the Flames sending their private jet (with Craig Conroy on it) to whisk away Frost and Farabee.
I can’t ever remember it taking that long to get guys out of Canada, but there were times that there had been delays.I mean they’re not apples to apples unless the visa thing was mostly made up.
*Whispers* He already is.What is going to shock people is Andrae will be better than York.

They traded for Tanev last year so I could see thatI forget who it was but Charlie mentioned that last year(?) the Stars had a similar situation with a dman they traded for.
