To me it’s pretty simple, it’s gonna make Drury look bad when he does it. He’s 4 years in and gonna be on 3rd coach, the optics on that are terrible

Waiting until the end of the year to see if they make the playoffs at least provides a bit of cover for Drury

Drury was Sather's hand-picked successor....that's how he got the positions in Hartford. Dolan is not firing Drury without The Almighty Sather's consent....and considering some of the shit Sather pulled while he was GM, Drury looks like a choir boy. That being said, I doubt Drury fires Lavvy after this season.
 
The lack of effort in the last two weeks fighting for a playoff spot is really disappointing. The NHL is a season by season sport. That is my hope. My hope is we will have enough changes that next season we play much differently.
 
It’s highly unlikely they go 10–1-1 and make the playoffs. Fire Lavi and Housley and play the kids the last 12 games to see what we have and get them some experience.

Shut down CK and Fox. It’s pointless putting any more wear and tear on them. Let Fox spend some extra time with his newborn.

Hope we make the right moves in the off season and rebound next year.

Also, if we’re going to lose, I’d rather go back to the high event pond hockey the last 12 games and at least be slightly entertained.

Pretty much all the optics on Drury say this guy doesn’t know what he’s doing.

What’s his best attribute? Getting out of bad contracts? Let’s try not handing them out first. All the bad ones he got out of, he just made more of

the system is garbage. how often to our players run into each other? it's embarrassing.

Pathing/puck support is not a thing in any zone. There's no rhyme or reason in our movements. They are slow at basically everything. To reading the play, moving the puck, moving to create lanes... Our 'breakouts' are beer level. There is no 'team play'. It's just every man for himself and hope for the best. Zero strategy or plan of attack. Be 'easy' to play against, I guess is our MO. Give up a ton of space and create none for ourselves.

Drury had a horrendous offseason. He finally did unload the dead weight though....

Our players quit and have played well below their means all season.

It really is/was a catastrophic season. Is our best hope to hit the lotto again and get a top3 pick? ( Misa, Schaefer, Hagens ) It's not like we're any good with that anyway.....

Kreider's goal was his 19th of the season. Kind of amazing (even with my Kreider colored glasses on) to think that even in a season that has been his worst as a Ranger, he is still third in goals at the moment. He has five more than Mika. Five more than Lafreniere. And in 14 less games.

Rationalize it all how you want to shit on him. But I like to think that it says a lot about of some of the other top guys on the team.

Sather no longer has an active role in the franchise. Dolan can easily fire Drury if he wants to.

Fans hating their own players to this degree is something I will never, ever, ever understand. Especially #20.

This is just a disaster and the season can't end quick enough. And it sure looks like they won't have a 1st rounder next year in a season where there will be presumably more turnover on the roster and who knows what the outcome will be. It's one thing if you knew you were a playoff lock and didn't have the 1st rounder but this team could theoretically be even worse next season.

Just a complete mess. They have one legitimate impact prospect in Perreault, their top forwards are all over 30 and are prone to quitting on coaches/management, their elite defenseman looks like he's skating in mud after multiple knee injuries, their kids that could be NHL players for the team next season are playing 7 minutes a game with Matt Rempe, their #1 pick who signed a huge long term extension immediately mailed it in after signing his name. The list goes on and on. The coaching staff needs to go and they need to do their absolute best to get guys like Kreider, Mika, etc off the roster. I just don't know where you go from here because you have cornerstone pieces in Fox (who may not be himself going forward who knows) and Igor but the vast majority of the roster is a dumpster fire that should be replaced and they have very limited top end potential to replace it within the system. This team is at a major crossroads.

At least one of them would not go down so easily . There would be some resentment to losing , Watching an emotionless club is like watching paint dry , The girls league has more nastiness in their games . Our team of non magical ice FARIES needs an attitude adjustment . BAD BAD BAD .....

The volume around JTM is increasing but remember his first few games when he arrived, he was a revelation. Then the malaise that permeates this organization took over. I'm not gonna rush to judgment on him yet. He's also one guy. Even McDavid is one guy. He'd have multiple Cups if it was all about one elite guy.
