Half-Assed GDT: There's a game today against the Hawks

We could have roster issue. Neal and Kostin were both unable to play today so we went with only 11F. If Perron is unable to go tomorrow, we don't have cap space to add another skater. May need to dress 10f and 8d, unless we are willing to send Walman through waivers.

With the stuff going on with the Cleveland baseball team and the Washington football team, I’m surprised i don’t hear much about the Blackhawks logo. I thought the idea of using an ethnic group as a mascot is no longer acceptable

The history of the team is it named after a WW veteran and unit and the hawks have an agreement with First Nation groups for the logo and do outreach supporting those groups. Since it named after one persons and not a tribe it escapes a lot of the criticism Baltimore and Washingtons team logos and names invoke.

Yes a captain does need to do something when their linemate and most important player get hit in the head.. again great player but questions about his leadership are warranted. Team has underperformed the past 2 years and his leadership is part of that.

The sense that i get from these recent events is that the people that are offended aren’t necessarily the people being represented by the logos/mascots. There’s nothing really offensive to me about the Blackhawks logo, but just because it represents someone from a group that other teams have had to make changes
