The market has turned the page. Who wants to really be watching hockey in the middle of June? It just isn't a timeframe you associate at all with hockey. Even here the interest has actually gone down a bit and its the everloving SC final. Hardly anybody was even posting before game 1 and 2. People have turned the page to the summer. Didn't the NHL figure out in the pandemic bubble that interest in hockey in summer wanes?

I still don't know what it is and don't care. How do you appeal to a generation more interested in Taylor Swift than anything? Its hard to market to newer generations, not just the NHL finding that out.

It’s like arm wrestling. But instead of that, 2 guys take turns slapping eachother as hard as they can and see who survives the pain. It’s like a sport straight out of idiocracy. It is hard to market to the new generation sure, lots of completion for eyeballs out there these days. But I would say even back then they sucked at marketing and reletaively to other entertainment outlets they still suck.
I hope all the parasites buying tickets and trying to make a profit have to feel the pain. This needs to stop.

Even with the league doing everything they can to keep him down he's still popular. Clips of him dominating the league occasionally go top trending on YouTube Reddit and tiktok just organically.
Yet the league tries to keep him down for some reason. It's laughable.

I can assure you this wasn’t a parasitic sale. They are his seasons tickets and he goes to 80% of the games. The person can’t make the game now and listed them for $1500 less than what was for sale in the area - and these seats are far better.
They sold in 20 minutes - again after the loss, meaning the tickets were underpriced. TM made $1500 at least on the sale including buyer and seller fees. Seller made $5K before the actual ticket costs which were $2k for the pair.
These were for Game 4 so maybe a couple Florida fans coming in from out of town bought them.
Anyway my point was @Drivesaitl said prices were falling which I’m sure they are and if they lose Game 3, Game 4 ticket prices will plummet. But prices are still pretty high and people are still forking out big bucks!
If we win Games 3 & 4 prices for Game 6 will go through the roof.

Yeah I'm not arguing that the league is a joke but other things too. Pretty soon movies will have to be 15mins and War and Peace on 10pages. Oh wait, nobody reads now.
I've seen younger relatives that CANNOT watch any program for even a minute. Change station, change station, change. Then they just land on youtube and set to watch the first 15secs of any video that they're not watching anyway because they have 6 texting convos going on about what they are doing, which is essentially nothing. .
the WNBA is doing better marketing its future/current star than the NHL ever has.

Most old people say this, but man is this new generation just messed IMO lol. Probably the laziest generation thus far. Half of the people at my wifes school come to school in pajamas and slippers. ALl zombies on their phones. Zero attention spans
Those atrocious huge mop curly haircuts that come down to their eyes almost lol. Tik Tok dances. Wearing big baggy sweaters in plus 20 weather
A lot of them just have no grit. Give up easily, etc. Now you can't even fail students. Don't get me started ont he pro nouns. My wife has to keep a long list to keep track of every student and their alternate names they don't want to use at home

I agree with you. I think the NHL leadership is full of dinosaurs with a reluctance to move into the new century. The audience they seek don’t want to watch hockey in June. They don’t want to see after the whistle crap that takes away from the game. They dont want to see Rollerball hockey where hacking, slashing, a freaking naked rear chokehold. If I’m being objective, it’s a garbage product that can’t keep up with its own organic evolution. Players are more skilled, faster, etc and the NHL still holds on to the decades old standard of playoff penalties. Hell- Colin Campbell was exposed in a massive scandal and he didn’t even get a wrist slap. Total joke league.
Until this league decides to move at the speed of its players- it’s going to be stuck as a b level
Sport. To your point, hockey needs to end in May. Hell, even the players get bored playing in Feb. shorten the season, make each game more important. How many of us skip games because they are playing every second day in January and February? When each game is important, there is more drama, people make more time to watch. I can’t wait until these Dinos are done.

It’s ok. Men are allowed to join a lot of women’s sports now so the locker room dynamic will change I’m sure.
