Question to the people from Norway. How big is MZA there? Like if you were to compare him to someone.

In norwegian hockey he is the player with the biggest following Norway has ever had, no doubt. Hockey here is a pretty small sport though, but after he went to the NHL and got some goals etc newspapers and other media has finally started to mention hockey more. I believe that he alone (if he continues to be successful) will be responsible for lots of kids getting into hockey here, which in time also will get lots of new rinks built. For hockey here thats the biggest "fruit" of him being in the Rangers.

To compare him to any one person is hard though. BUT, he is now a household name in a country that really dont care about hockey. Hopefully that will get people more aware of the sport.

BTW:To illustrate how small hockey is here i can use my team Stavanger Oilers as an example. They one of the teams in the leauge with the biggest following, and they are last seasons playoff winners, but only draws around 1600-1900 people to their games :(

Objectively speaking he is not yet up there with the cross country skiiers, skijumpers and the best soccer players. The news media runs stories on these characters just to tell you inform you about what their girlfriends are doing.

Still, for the last couple of months, if a newspaper or TV channel runs a story about ice hockey, there is a 50% chance that the Zuke is the centerpiece of the story. Sadly, this says more about the public level of interest in Norwegian hockey than about the level of Zuke's media attention.

People are comparing him to Espen "Shampoo" Knutsen who is our most successful hockey player to date. I guess it could go either way with that comparison at this point. It's obviously an error prone exercise to start comparing careers when one of the players in question is only half way into his rookie NHL season.

From a media perspective I guess he is getting comparable coverage as Suzann Pettersen (the LPGA pro).

Spot on

The truth is that despite this booster club he's done relatively little other than in shootouts.

Ha ha , White from Devils try to fight with Zuc. In a split of a second Stall is there ready to rip some heads off. :)

possibly the best picture ever...zucca just having a time and a half!

had to share this :D

He's very shifty. Sam or Joe called Skinner "very shifty" because he ran into Boyler and drew the kneeing penalty, but if it was Zuc he would've avoided the hit altogether. Really glad this guy decided to sign here and was given a chance. Him, Step and W2 are nothing short of a pleasant surprise.

Nice to see That Zucca has been going again the last couple of games with his mates Stepan and Wolski. This line must keep playing together, and should get even more ice time.

Intervju with Zuke, about his time in NY so far + +

I dont know if people outside norway can see it, if not hopefully someone with better computer skills than me can upload to youtude or something..

Good interview, link works fine! Thanks a lot!!!

Love Zucc. Hope he gets signed long term here. Between his first HUGE overtime goal against Carolina, to his multiple shootout goals, you can't say he hasn't made an impact.

36GP - 6G - 14A - 20P - (+5)

Shooutout statistics: 5/8, with 3 GDG (game deciding goals)

How anyone can be upset with this stat-line for a rookie is beyond me.

Keep it up Zucc!!!
