The lack of Alex Glachenyuk on many of these list is staggering. He has been the habs most dominant forward of most nights. Not putting up the points but is on pace for 55 points.

Yet guys like Bo horvat and barkov are on these lists.

So Strome is not considered a young star? He easily is up in the top 3-5 forwards.

As for Reinhart, I see a hell of a young player, he does a lot of the subtle "good" things that it gets overlooked. His offense will be a question (still think that will develop as he gets to know the league. He can skate it out and dish it. And he is a potential super stud defensively

As OP I listed only the ones that came to my mind. To do a complete list would take forever. Lots of the players people complained about are guys I like a lot. Put in Dumba for homer vote because he still has the same tools that made him so coveted a few years ago and it seems some people have already pegged him as a bust.

It's definitely a homer vote, and it seems strange to not list any of the other 2012 defensemen. Why Dumba over Rielly? Or Trouba? Or Lindholm? I mean, really, they are already far beyond Dumba, and there is no real potential argument for Dumba that doesn't also apply to them.

I'll readily admit I'm a homer for thinking Lindholm belongs on that list, but I don't think I'm one for saying Rielly or Trouba could be mentioned. Or that Dumba is well behind all of those guys right now. If you are going to include him, it just makes their exclusion that much more glaring. You're basically saying he'll be the best defenseman from the draft, despite some of those names already deserving, at least, some future All-Star mention. Yeah, I'd say that's kind of iffy.

Of all the good young players in the league, who do you anticipate realizing their potential and what guys do you see stumbling or plateauing in their development?

I realize this could get heated, but I think it is fun to be on the record with certain prospects and I think this thread provides a decent spot to do just that.

All-Star Level Players: Forsberg, Gaudreau, Ekblad, S. Reinhart, S. Monahan, Darnell Nurse, Bo Horvat, Matt Dumba, Barkov and Bjugstad.

Guys I think might end up as disappointments are Teravainin, Sam Bennett, Griffin Reinhart, Jake Virtanen, Kasperi Kapenen, Scott Laughton, Max Domi.

Teravainen will be a 40-55 pt guy IMO, not enough grit in his game. Think Reinhart is Cam Barker 2.0 and I question if the physical aspects of Virtanen and Domi's games will translate to the next level.

RNH is 21 faces 1st comp and is 13th best scoring center playing P VS P.
Monohan is 20 and 22nd best scoring center playing P vs P

Klefbom (21) WJC all-star Dman
2nd comp with J. schultz
20 EV TOI 1.35 EVGA/60

And that, right there, is going to be an issue for people. 12 games. You're extrapolating an entire season from 12 games, and thinking he deserves mention?

He may not be currently at the same level as the other defensemen his age that are in the NHL, but Matt Dumba has very quietly had a very good season in both the AHL and NHL, though points don't show everything. He doesn't get the same kind of playing time and PP time, but he has really shown his explosive playing at times and us Wild fans look forward to seeing him progress his game. Not sure if he has All Star potential yet or not, but he is not looking like bust material either.
