This is football but I remember for fan appreciation day NY Giants gave out 1 free medium Pepsi to season ticket holders. It’s even a little funnier cuz no matter how many tickets you purchased as a season ticket holder they still only got 1 medium Pepsi. (Example: family of 4 with season tickets? Only 1 free drink etc, you get the point)

Ik its probably not one of the worst giveaways on here but I found it funny. 1 free medium Pepsi. Not even a large

In the midst of a fifth consecutive failure of a season, no less.

I had half season tickets to the sens during the Cash line days (Heater - Spezza - Alfie). I think it was if they scored 4 goals or more everyone got a free slice from pizza pizza. we still had paper tickets. First time I hand the ticket to a homeless guy on Elgin at Laurier and there was (is?) a pizza pizza a block south. That man looked at me so confused. I had to painstakingly explain that if he just walked into that place they would give him a slice. It worked and I think i gave him 10-12 that season. Eventually they raised it to 5 goals and it didn’t change much. Tons of pizza for the homeless.

This thread is proof only like 50% of people even read the OP before posting. Or check to see if their answer has been posted.

Some of these are hilarious though, so thank you.

Gotta be more around 25% which given the posters that cant read it isn’t surprising lol

Durzi…. and I’m not thinking of anything specific. There’s a contender for the worst I’ve seen each game.

Anyone have a best fan giveaway? 🤔
Every year the Hershey Bears have a few Hersheypark pass nights. Every fan in attendance gets a complimentary ticket to Hersheypark, the theme park right across the street from the Bears' arena, that's good through about halfway through the park's summer season. Given that regular admission to HP is nearly $80 and you're getting a ticket for the price of minor league hockey admission, these are always some of the most popular games of the year. Hell, some people just come to get their park tickets and just leave immediately without staying for the game, lol.

Used to be if the Rays struck out 10 hitters you'd take the ticket to a Kane's furniture store and get a coupon for one of the small Papa John's pizzas and now it's a Tijuana Flats taco.

You have to go to a f***ing furniture store to get a coupon for a taco or pizza AFTER hoping your team strikes out 10 hitters. A furniture hustle for a taco

The Sharks had a promotion where if they scored in the final 2 minutes of the 2nd period you got two free tacos from Jack in the Box.

2 tacos at Jack in the Box go for 99 cents.

and most locations did not participate in the promotion.

My former place of employment once gave all staff a Christmas bonus, for 50% off 1 PPV movie. It's cheap in of itself, but since we were a Cable TV company and already got all PPV movies for $2.00... it was sad.

Montreal had their AHL farm team in Fredericton from 1990-1999. The financial support from local businesses was underwhelming. As a teenager I once won $25 gift certificate for the Carpet Ranch. Went straight in the trash 🗑️

The Jets have a giveaway during the game that 1 row (about 18 people out of 15,000) receive a coupon for a buy one, get one slice of pizza, which is not redeemable in the arena.

It got me thinking, have you seen a giveaway more offensive, insulting, or cheap at a pro-sports event before? I'm ready to laugh.
I remember winning this at a moose game and thinking the same thing. But then again, most tv timeout giveaways aren't meant for the arena. This one just happens o be for a product that is also sold in the arena.

Good old Fredericton. Surprised you didn't get a 2$ coupon for Dolans Nachos or something equally worthless, or a free memebership to the Co-Op for 1 month.
