I think Marty's play has been underrated, mostly due to all the losing. Say what you want about some of the goals he's allowed, but he seems to be keep it to 2 and under, you can't complain much about that. He still has some gas left in the tank, its unbelievable.

He still has one of the best GAA's in the league, but stats jockeys who sit on the bowl every morning reading behind the net will tell you that's a team stat, and not a goalie one.

He's one of the main reasons the shots against are so low because of his stickhandling. Though the whole team deserves credit in this game for doing their part in keeping play out of our end.

If we had a goalie with a better save percentage he'd probably still give up as many goals, but he would be facing more shots more than likely. Higher save percentage, but the same GAA.

Including today's game:

JUST MARTY / NO KOVY

1-6-4 (6 points in 11 games)

19 GF (1.72/G)
29 GA (2.63/G)

JUST KOVY / NO MARTY

3-8-2 (8 points in 13 games)

29 GF (2.23/G)
44 GA (3.38/G)

BOTH KOVY AND MARTY HEALTHY

13-3-4 (30 points in 20 games)

57 GF (2.85/G)
44 GA (2.20/G)

Wow, didn't think it was that bad. Marty and Kovy are our MVPs, it's not even a debate.

Again, the only long-shot playoff chance we have:

Devils go 4-0 (all ROW)
Rangers go 1-3 (SO win) or 0-2-2
Jets go 1-2-1

It's not like either guy was lighting the world on fire either. Moose was bad but hardly the reason we kept losing. And Kovy did nothing today yet we scored a ton so obviously this lot is able to score goals.

Maybe an on ice leadership thing?

First and foremost, we need to win out.

Secondly, the Rangers need to lose a game besides the ones against us.

Thirdly, the Jets can only win 1 of their last 4.

All of these things individually can happen, all together less likely, but it ain't over 'till its over and our boys are going to give 'em Hell right up until the end.

Yeah **** the Islanders love. They wouldn't do **** in an 82 game season cause they're a garbage team.

If the Jets win are we automatically eliminated?

No. Jets need 4 points as of today to guarantee a spot ahead of us. If they won today that puts them in the same spot the Rags are in regard to us.

If Isles win we can't catch them FYI.

I don't know who I want to win. Would be nice to see the Rangers miss, but the Isles making the playoffs, and us missing gives me chest pains.

Again, the only long-shot playoff chance we have:

Devils go 4-0 (all ROW)
Rangers go 1-3 (SO win) or 0-2-2
Jets go 1-2-1

We play the Rags twice, so it might be more possible than the numbers show.

Very, very difficult, but still possible.

Ya I think you are wrong. You are forgetting the Rags have the first tiebreaker over us which is just wins. ROW doesn't factor in until after wins and we can't catch the Rags in wins. Rags have to lose out and us win out for us to pass them.

I think your wrong. I believe we are eliminated if the Rangers get 2 points in any fashion

Nope.

Rangers could get 52 but if they don't pick up another ROW, the Devils can tie it up in ROW and win the 2nd tiebreaker (H2H points) by winning out.

He's adding our 4 potential ROW. We can end with 19, and 52pts. If the Rags get one SO win, we'd be tied(52pts and 19 ROW) but have the edge with the season series.

I don't know why people thought that push on Gionta was funny, he could have gotten hurt on that.

Clemmensen reached out his hand it looked like to help him up because the two are friends, and then his ass teammate just threw him over the wall.

Jets need to lose 3 of 4 with a tough schedule. Isles need to lose out. Passing the Jets are our best bet but they need to lose today. Isles won't lose out and even if they somehow do we would then need the Jets to lose out starting Monday.
