Okay a bit random but those Spence Diamond commercials on the radio are not only annoying, but the people on them sound extremely creepy.

Love that you can hear everything you want later in podcast form with no commercials.

They realized the guy whooping or whatever you call it sounded stupid, so they went away from it. Then they went for weird ads with unlikable characters. Then they added the whooping dipshit back into the mix with the weird shit.

What.... you have an issue with Callum?

I have an issue with Sekeres and his nasally voice and the fact he could store 3 or 4 Swanson meals in his neck folds. He makes Bob Mackenzie look like a jockey. He's not long for this world at this point if he keeps up like this.

But he is adored here so I expect some backlash for this post.

We should be happy with any local coverage. National writers and commentators are laughably flailing on most Western teams, because they simply don't watch them.

In today's Athletic league-wide analysis, Jesse Granger writes that "subpar goaltending" is why Vancouver projects to be his "biggest disappointment". Another writer points out the existence of Lankinen, to which Granger responds with "oh yeah, I just looked up his numbers." This isn't a podcast; it's a published article of "expert analysis". Meanwhile, Mirtle calls Kaprizov "a shiny new toy", despite three straight 40 goal seasons. If he played for Toronto, they would be rationalizing themselves into paying him 15 million.

Nevermind that Hughes didn't get any attention for the Hart as his performance has to be watched, rather than just looking up his stats once in awhile.

Aren't fans getting pissed off with the lack of independent media coverage on the mainstream media?
The game time media is all owned and scripted by the team.
Only only one media person on road trips? And he is paid in part by the team or Rogers. He is paid by Sportsnet which is owned by Rogers so, biased stories and questions?

I am listening to Sportsnet right now and hearing how I can buy into a 50/50 draw to support metro Toronto minor hockey, really got me motivated.

Hronek injured, it looked serious and all it gets is a sentence in IMac's story and not even mentioned on the post game media presentation.

Even if there is anything mentioned is quotes from other media, "Dahli said blah, blah, blah" even if he is giving an opinion, a guess or maybe a script.
The information comes from themselves and if ANYONE has a different source they get talked to or something like that.

The team is controlling the information, so the fans are not as informed as they should be, the team feels no need to answer fans questions or to the fans. The team gets no information about the fan apathy they are building up until it gets to the point of empty seats and then that isn't mentioned either.

Team control is so powerful that when was the last time there was a negative story on mainstream media about management? Or even speculation? The seasons aren't perfect, there will be warts every now and then, there isn't/shouldn't be 100% confidence that they are perfect. But never a whisper of ANYTHING that could or should include the coach or management.

Social video shows like Spittin Chiclets are reporting more complete information because they don't rely on the NHL or teams to earn money.

The time is coming to start posting decent social media sports shows as an alternative to scripted Rogers sports shows or listening to talking about recipes or other unrelated NOT funny stories about dogs, cats, bridges or weather for half a SHOW.

Some of these social media posters do get players or agents leaking more inside info as long as they stay anonymous which can be hard thats so where it comes from is not revealed. The NHL and teams have long legal arms.

Vancouver is appearing to be the most censored information of al the teams now but it is spreading in Canada. There used to be competition in Canada but not anymore or a whole lot less.

This sucks.

Rogers will buy TSN. Proceed to lay off more media personalities, reduce alternative sports content and show the same "NHL best of ____" across 8 channels.

I don't care about TSN, Sportsnet, Rogers, or Bell and have been finding alternative means for my sports viewing for some time.

Was over at a bud's place and there we were, in Vancouver watching and an NFL game, on a Seattle station, and all of a sudden there's a quick break for local Toronto news. He's now a convert.

Yeah, this is terrible.

But, to be fair, sometimes it's MLB Best Of or poker games that were played 5 years ago. You need 8 channels to deliver such great content to the people.

They should just let NHL on TNT run all the games in Canada if they aren't going to do regional coverage anymore. I'd rather listen to Biz and the crew be hilarious than watch Ron MacLean read a poem from 1835, or go straight to Toronto baseball highlights after a Canucks game.

The latest team information maybe;

It is expected maybe, that Miller will be at practice Wednesday but it is up to Miller.

Miller and Tocchet have to talk first to see when Tocchet plays him.

Source? Dreger through/from Dhali? NOT from the Canucks (at the time of this post) but it about a Canuck source expectations.

It’s hilarious when media members take shots from their inbox so seriously. Tim really hit a nerve with Brough today.

Now imagine if Brough had to take 1/10th of the criticism he’s thrown Peteys way. Guy would be a ball crying in the corner.

Vancouver's favorite Dom Luszczyzsyn is doing a sick back pedal after thinking it was a good idea to form a podcast with noted racist, Tony Deangelo.

he should've just kept quiet and declined appearing on his podcast on the DL, instead he made a big twitter overture that he cannot be seen with him, that is actually giving TDA more exposure.... these self serving media types are the worst.

on the other hand.....

I cannot believe our Media is feeding so much fire into the EP/Miller relation that they will upend our chance to have a solid #1/#1A center depth for our mini contending window. That is why I maintain winning a cup in canadian markets is so impossible, for all the good they do, our media in the end tends to ouroboros anything positive happening to the team. EVERYTIME.

Imagine when you dont get along with someone at work, instead of allowing yourself to put your head down and push it to the back of your mind, the PA system at work is shining a gigantic spotlight on it, and the whole city starts to ask you about it everyday and pick it apart on radio/TV...

Thinking Miller will ask for a trade soon. I would be okay with that as he will become "too old" much sooner than Petterson..

I feel like I'm in the minority, but I don't buy in to the Petey / Miller drama being as bad as its percieved. While they may not be "besties," I think the media and many fans are reading too much into this.

I also think it would be abundantly stupid to trade either. We finally have two excellent centers and great overall depth at the C position, which is typically a key component to cup contending teams.

They need to work through their individual challenges and if they are not getting along, grow a set and figure it the f*** out.

Predicting EP gets through this recent points slump and has a great second half of the season. I have faith.

Now hours of local SHOWS saying chemistry doesn't matter.
They are now ignoring comments like playing for the guys, each other.
Now they are trying to sell a disgruntled group of players doesn't matter.

Back east and US media crucify teams with bad rooms.
Constantly, even here in the past, say get rid of the cancer.

Media working over time trying to bury the turmoil and to sell, happy, happy, joy, joy and harmony din the room doesn't matter.

Tocchet's other teams have had this same issue especially in Arizona.
He wasn't a good coach before getting this group with Demko and the great job or retooling the defence management did.

Pretty soon this local media will be selling how good being in the mushy middle is improvement and having all the same players that fail year after year is a good thing, they will sell Demko's dog, Garland goldfish, Hughes teddy bear collection or ????
