I can't tell if the purpose of this thread is a commentary on the 2010s Blackhawks or a wish for the 2030s Blackhawks.
Continuation of the mental gymnastics they demonstrate in the criticizing the yzerplan thread

Well every city can't be as desirable as Boston or Dallas. Bruins signed Chara after a dogshit season. That's not happening in Edmonton.

It's like playing Texas Holdem but one player gets 1 hole card and another gets 3. Is that guy a genius player or benefiting from the advantage?
Yep, Tkachuk pretty much forced his way to Florida. Lot of players aren’t having great players force their way onto their team like fox and tkachuk. It’s a big challenge in Canada. Maybe with the exception with TO, but, was Tavares really in his prime?

Likewise, the other two teams in the CF were both examples that you DONT need to tank

Or, teams like Buffalo, CBJ continue to flounder both with a high number of high picks, and Toronto has yet to do any real damage in the playoffs
I'm not sure why people are invoking Columbus in a thread about tanking...they have never tanked. The only time they've had the first pick was when they traded up to draft Rick Nash. The only time they've had the 2nd pick was 2012 and their prize was Ryan Murray. Even last year, when they drafted Fantilli, they "lost" the lottery and dropped from 2OA to 3OA.
