Edmonton is proud to select G Martin Brodeur, hopefully he can repeat his 4 assists from last year and get me a few points.

Wait so you got Nabokov and Brodeur :amazed:

lol I guess one will be used for trade bait because the other will be useless if only the starter goalie get's most of the points

i think we should have a freeze, ONLY during weekdays till about 2 pm EST.

that way everyone has time to have school or work, and at least has a fair chance to set a list, if you can't make your pick on the weekends you'll have to send a list.

does everyone agree with that?

someone said earlier we can have 2 starting goalies. there are only 10 teams, so we are bound to have 2. its kinda smart for him to have both of them, i'm jealous

yea but if only the starter gets points until it replaces it's kind of stupid with the talent we got, but trade wise it's smart...

I didn't know we were doing it that way in this one also? because won't every team have to have 2 starters because there are so few teams, i don't see why we can't get points for both. because most teams will have an elite goalie and then an average starter. a lot of backups won't even be picked. ya know?

well don't goalies get like much more points than players so it would kind of be unfair... i'm not sure just my idea but we can see how others want to do it.

yeah, i def. agree with you. but that would leave about 15 starting goalies un-touched if we could only get 1 starter and 1 backup. everyone has a fair shot to get 2 awesome ones i guess, so even though i disagree, it would be "smart" drafting....:help:

we talked about this in agents draft also and decided that it wasn't really as fair as you'd think.

if you think about it's not really because going last isn't a disadvantage, because depth wise you are better off. its more fair if it's random.

so hypothetically the same person could get crosby and stamkos... in 2 years this person will have 2 of the 3 highest scorers in the league. ofcourse if stamkos pans out.. i would gladly have ovechkin and a top 25 pick rather than 2 top 15 players. I just think that each person should get the opportunity to do both you know what i'm saying... thats how we did it in a different draft i'm in and it seemed fair.. i was in the middle anyway but still.. I also don't see it very fair how me and sensational spezza have to pick last in both of them.

aaaaand i think we should have 2 starters.. with only 10 teams.. everyone should have atleast 2 starters.

Sorry that you got low picks in both but it was completely random. You have just as much chance as getting Stamkos as anybody

And I think we should only have 1 starter, it isn't really fair cause everyone is going to be picking two star goalies and getting tons of points while others don't even have a legit #1 goaltender

i def. understand where you are coming from. but i disagree that you don't have an advantage or at least an equal team. you got Carey Price and Iginla. a future/maybe even now franchise goalie and a top 5 player. i would have preferred to go last then 4th in the regular draft.

it's all random, no one put you in a low spot in both. everyone has equal chance across the board. i hope i'm not coming off as a dick or anything, but i had the same chance to be last in both as did everyone else.

see i agree, but then what happens to the other starters in the NHL, do they get overlooked?

Well I have a possible solution, the backups get .5 of whatever the starter gets

So he would get:

Goal: 25
Assist: 5
Regulation Wins: 1.5
Overtime Wins: 1.5
Shoot Out Wins: 1.5
Regulation Lose: .5
Overtime Lose: .5
Shoot Out Lose: .5
ShutOut: 2.5

It gives the goalies a spot to play and everyone gets a starting goalie because they don't want to pick a guy to highly cause he won't get you more points than a forward or a defenseman at that pick

I think someone auto'd him Sedin but I think we should be more fair and give him someone good like Datsyuk or something...

wait wait wait.. how did we determine the draft order? wouldnt it be more fair to have a vote after the draft.. then the team the we think that has the weaker roster should be voted to get stamkos.. just a rule of thumb and speaking from experience.. i hate the fact that people know where theyre drafting as far as prospects.. it takes something from trading picks and so on.. if im the only one that feels this way ill totally shut up.. lol
