I'd put Hutchinson in tomorrow.

I don't care what San Hose has been doing this year... Leafs should win. Back to back for San Hose and they're not what they once were.

They have a couple of really good young players and a couple good D man but Leafs need to finally beat down a team. Their goaltending isn't anything special at all either. Time to stop making every goalie look like an all star. The shooting % is about to get a bump. Let's go Leafs.
Yeah sire, we was right, expected hutch gon hutch this game for us  We MIGHT WIN BIGG TYME BABY! The shesharks will be playing tonight also, against the fool sens!! WOOP WOOP!!!!

I'd personally put Campbell in tomorrow.

Pittsburgh is gonna be so depleted against us, Carter & Jarry have Covid, Crosby/Malkin/Rust are all injured for a while and Friedman might still be hurt.

They'll be running something like this

Jake Guentzel - Evan Rodrigues - Danton Heinen
Jason Zucker - Teddy Blueger - Kasperi Kapanen
Zach Aston Reese- Sam Lafferty - Brock Mcginn
Drew O'Connor - Brian Boyle - Dominik Simon

Brian Dumoulin - Kris Letang
Marcus Pettersson - John Marino
Mike Matheson - Chad Ruhdwedel

Desmith
Domingue

- San Jose isn't a good team, but this pens lineup is abysmal.

Yeah given that starting Hutch first is cocky and asking for trouble already, the fact that PIT's offense is so depleted probably makes this an easy choice.

Always at your best goalie in the 1st of a back to back. Getting 2/4 points is better than 0/4.

I don't disagree usually but seems like a good time to get away with it.

In saying that I just saw Crosby is forsure out this Saturday. Rust is injured now. Malkin is a long ways out and Carter, and Jarry are now on covid protocol and they will most likely miss too. I hope the Leafs don't do what they tend to do at times and play too laid back.

The 4 points are there for the taking big time this weekend.

Yeah I just saw all that now. I didn't realize how many guys they had out. I guess either way it doesn't matter.

There is times on a back to back I was just thinking play your weaker goalie against the weaker team regardess of the night but with all those guys out that kind of changes it.

I don’t think there will ever be a time we will feel comfortable with Hutch starting.
Never really know what you're gonna get from Hutch but I'm not overly concerned about it.

I care more about Campbell's load management, would rather him have 2 days off than 1 after the back-to-back... not a big deal tho

its a back to back .. imo i get playing hutch against the western team BUT
its a 3 games in 4 nights situation. I would rather have campbell playing friday and monday , instead of saturday and monday.

They’ll probably still outwork our team…

Playing Hutch is ridiculous. You are not trying to keep him sharp. He DID NOT MAKE THE TEAM. Campbell should be playing back to back. If Hutch was so good and trustworthy then why did we get Mrasek.???
This coaching staff and Dubas had better start thinking about winning each game, rather than all the soft long term nicey nicey decisions.

I could understand on the 2nd back to back if Soupy had 56 shots in game 1. He already had 4 days rest....enough....one day we sign a street guy, then his replacement is so important he plays before your starter.
BS.

It's way too early to tire out your goaltender. It's fine to split the back to back.

Risking your starting goalie to injury on back-to-back nights while the other tandem goalie is already injured is ridiculous....Playing Hutch against a tired team with your fresh team is not ridiculous, its striking a balance for both goalies and the team

A bit cocky, which can be a good thing or a bad thing.

Not too worried about Hutch being awful though. .906 career. .901 with the leafs. .921 with the Marlies. .919 last year.
