From what we saw Saturday they are like two adolescents just looking to get attention, but instead of farting in class they staged fights at the beginning of the Canada game conveniently against two smaller players.

As much as I love fighting as the next fan, that staged juvenile display Saturday night was very lame and a very bad look on both guys.

It is really too bad that Tom Wilson wasn't on Team Canada. That group chat the Tkachuks were laughing about after the game would have gone a very different way. Like "Yeah, no way bro." As we've all seen what happens when Matt The Weasel lines up against an actual heavyweight.

But if you've been watching hockey for more than a week you know the difference between an organic fight (as in, someone steamrolls your star so you make him pay) vs. this contrived, attention-seeking childishness. Again, it's not just that they planned to start the game with multiple fights but clearly they did so because there was no Tom Wilson on the ice. You know it, I know it.

And I give props to Miller. Even though his fight was just as planned as the Tkachuk's at least he went after Canada's biggest player in Parayko. And he even held his own. But the Tkachuks, esp. Matt, once a punk, always a punk.

Cause Canada wasn’t booing the anthem for awhile before the game? That’s had me and most I know pissed off. Pretty cool you just know their motivation though. I mean, Matthew said he doesn’t like the booing.

The fights set the tone of the game, period. And ok, no Wilson, he barely fights these days and both guys have been on the ice with him and haven’t changed their games. You think Brady wouldn’t have gone with Tom? Weren’t many guys on the ice who were as willing to go like Bennett was. People haven’t looked and Bennys fight card and seen who he’s willing to go with. Parayko doesn’t ever fight but was willing since JT was going with anyone at that point.

Chucky is a crappy fighter, he’s a shit disturber and it works, every time. Helped him get his name on the Cup and he’ll keep doing it. I love that people like you hate him, Panthers needed it and it worked.

You’re just salty the US won, apparently. And the beginning had a lot to do with it, we’ll see if they can do it again.

These boys would fight each other come playoffs. They are like the Sutters. Hoping to see Florida v Ottawa this playoffs.

They have a pact that they wont fight each other, doesn't mean it could NEVER happen, but the games are always a physical match and Brady and Matthew normally never even cross paths in those games.

Well, for what it's worth, USA Hockey confirmed the he was removed from the Sweden game for precautionary reasons.

It's hard to gauge the seriousness of injuries when the team is playing a pointless game having already qualified for the Final.

Matthews will end up like Joe Thornton, have some decent seasons as a top 25 player and may win a Golf Medal or 4 Nations Tourney but likely never wins anything of significance in NHL.

This might be an unpopular take, but I think the league needs more players like the Tkachuks, not less.

Say what you want about them, there's never a boring moment when they are on the ice, Saturday was the greatest example of that. I get why people dislike them, but I don't, these types of players can make any game interesting with a single shift.
