New Orleans Pelicans

That's who came to mind when I saw this thread. I was watching a highlight show a little while back and the started to talk about the Pelicans and it totally caught me by surprise, I had no idea they existed. After googling, I found they existed for a good year before I became aware of their existence.

The same could never happen in hockey. I probably think of Minnesota the least, being a Western Conf team.

cant really see a fan forgetting about a team existing... only thing that comes close for me is that I still(and probably will always) call them Phoenix Coyotes... Arizona Coyotes doesn't roll off my tongue naturally

In the NBA, I really forgot where the Kings are from the other week. Also "newer" teams like the Pelicans. I'm still somewhat stuck in the 90s since that's when I really followed the NBA.

After the division's got shuffled they totally slipped my mind for a few months.

I don't forget teams that don't exist, but there are teams I don't really watch a lot of when it comes to GCL. The team that most fits this description are the Colorado Avalanche. I know Duchane, Varlomov and O'Rielly are on the team, but I don't think I know anyone else.

I can never remember the name of the team that plays in Manhattan. Do they still have a team? Honestly, there are many teams that I don't think about often but I haven't forgotten their existence.
