We could give them generic numeric numbers. Hurricane 2024.13 or Hurricane Milton...I'll take Milton.I wish they would stop calling hurricanes people's names. It's silly.
I really hope this 1 dies down, if its bad, I can see a horrible situation developing. I can't see FEMA having the resources to handle 2 simultaneous situations
They can’t handle one, never mind 2!I really hope this 1 dies down, if its bad, I can see a horrible situation developing. I can't see FEMA having the resources to handle 2 simultaneous situations
Here is an even better one.
This was during Ian.
There people in charge of such things seem to disagree with you.The hurricane's path isn't projected to pass over there but it's still extremely insensitive, reckless and stupid to not reschedule the game.
This qualifies as a state-wide crisis to say the least and will impact millions of people indirectly and demand time, energy and resources.
That would be crippling for all the people. But, it’s also the reality of that region. What can the state really do to limit the impact?Florida insurance industry could possibly collapse
I see what you did there.canceling the game today would be pointless.
Not to be insensitive but this is akin to pictures of Las Vegas for me - monuments to our stupidity.Pray that Tampa General Hospital’s flood mitigation holds
AccuWeather said yesterday that it hasn't happened in October since 1900.I'm in my early 40s, and I've never seen a hurricane move from west to east like this. Hope NHL postpones the lightning game.
Nah. It'll be like after Katrina, where they went around the whole country and jacked up everyone else's insurance to pay out the people who lost everything. I had relatives 1/2 mile from the beach uphill too (in New England) and they somehow got away with jacking up their flood insurance premium after Katrina. 30 years living there and never flooded once. Insurance is such a scam.Florida insurance industry could possibly collapse
Terrible spot for a hospital. That would be a perfect spot for a maximum security prison for the worst offenders thoughPray that Tampa General Hospital’s flood mitigation holds
First thing that came to my mind was Paradise Lost.N
No one is named Milton so it’s fine
No it’s notI wish they would stop calling hurricanes people's names. It's silly.
It helps you remember them. Like it was just twenty years ago Florida was hit by Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne over a six week period.I wish they would stop calling hurricanes people's names. It's silly.
I think people would take it more seriously if it wasn't called Milton. No one is going to be intimidated by something called Milton.
