The guys in the room support one another. Laine isn't sitting there saying get me out of here because Dach is struggling to get back to form.

You guys come on lol

Laine is obviously mad he doesn't get to play with our Slovakian 1st overall superstar Jurajmir Slabovsky.

Laine is well aware that he has it good and that no one is calling him a boat anchor even though he has no goals 5 on 5 and just one fluke assist.

Maybe he likes how the Habs brass is patient with talent (including him!) unlike, say, the Rangers.
To be fair to Laine we just have one top 6 center and our other centers are honestly atm not very good 3rd line center either (outside of Evans but he's more a hard worker than a skilled player he's a bottom 6 guy). I mean once the Pens tried Malkin with Mike Rupp and it was a disaster. Not everyone is McJesus or Crosby most skilled players in the league need to play with other skilled players to be productive. I don't give up on Dach yet but we need to call a cat a cat atm he's a mediocre 3rd line center who would probably be returned to the AHL if he was a 20 years old 2nd round pick.

I think it should be Demidov but I’m probably in the minority here and don’t know what HuGo is thinking.
I have seen this line of thinking before, and it interests me.

I agree with you, but I think Evans is a pretty good 3rd line C at the moment. The guy keeps getting better.

I thought he looked pretty good last night.
He often does playing with Suzuki and Caufield. It motivates him and they can complete and compliment his plays.

I agree, at least until we see how the draft falls.

Imagine we can land Martone?

Laine-Demidov-Martone as a second line? That’s terrifying.

If you end up with Hagens or Misa, Demidov goes to RW.

I don’t know if it’s the system but in the 2nd half last year pucks would end up on the half board, he’d get there 4 strides before anyone, shove incoming opponents with his giant hips and dish it off. I don’t see that at all this year.

I believe in playing to your strengths, and putting pucks on the boards might have been the strategy because it worked. Like icing the puck with Anderson or Newhook cheating on exits.

They’re trying a different strategy? Forgot about how that one worked? He’s getting deep and winning board battles, but I see tons of 50-50 pucks and fewer intentional possession plays or maybe pucks put in spots that serve his game.

I think it's starting to come back from him little by little, he made plays behind the buffalo net yesterday, protecting the puck, dishing it to Caufield or rimmed it on the boards for Suzuki, he ended up scoring yesterday because of it. Something he did more last year was that he was carrying the puck more, I think he'll start doing it even more the more he gets his confidence back.

I think he instinctively knows what to do with Suzuki and Caufield. He looked confused playing with Dach.

Probably the best locker room in the NHL to be part of. Great group of guys in there. And MSL is a great coach to support these young players through this rebuild.
