You are joking right? When a 18-19yr old gets 50pts in 1 season, you don't second guess it.
You sign him to a long term 60 million dollar contract asap.

It's ok, he knows he's got to be better and he will be. The contract is gonna look great in a couple years. But knowing what we know now, would it be a good idea to sign it? What was the urgency to extend his contract last summer. It could have been done this spring.
Oh so he's just going to suddenly start trying next year then? Is he waiting and just floating until this one is done? It's ok, he knows he's got to be better and he will be. The contract is gonna look great in a couple years.
Let's see if he picks his game up in the second half of this season. Leave him on the first line.Oh so he's just going to suddenly start trying next year then? Is he waiting and just floating until this one is done?

What's the McDonalds ad curse context?Gonna blame Dach and the McDonalds ad curse for his struggles and drink the kool-aid.
He earned it last season. They should be left together until that magic is recreated and amplified.I think you have to earn it, you can't float you way up there because of your draft pedigree

The contract hasn't started yet. We have no choice but to give him time to find his game again on the fist line. He was amaizing in the second half of last season. He's played only 148 games so technically he is still 16 games away from completing 2 full seasons. Could be a softmore slump. Let's see what he does for the rest of the season, things can change quickly, he looked pretty good last game.Last season don't mean shit now, if he's an 8 million dollar player he should prove it on any line. This Club Med blullshit has been killing the club for 30 years. Pat Falloon had a good season once, so did Alex Daigle, Yakupov's first season was solid in Edmonton. Primetime money should mean delivering on your contract moving forward.
He isn't skating, hitting, making plays, shooting.. he's playing like an uninterested kid who is going to be rich no matter what. I hate these contracts. One year, and boooom here's a huge contract.
