Slaf had good physical attributes and a lot of talent. The problem is he didn't use these assets on a consistent basis. We knew that he was more consistent when he played with Suzuki and Caufield. If MSL wanted Slaf to play well, he got to put that line back together.

2022 being a ‘’bad’’ draft year doesn’t mean the player has to be bad. Him and Cooley are pretty similar in terms of production (different type of player), he’s on par or better now than Carlsson or Fantilli who are similar in age and which people were saying at the time of the 2023 draft that they were better than him. It’s just longer for younger players to dominate now.

Next year will be his breakout year imo, when he’s has a good game, he shows flashes of his high ceiling. I’m seeing things I never saw from Kotkaniemi at his age. Not worried!
