Logan Cooley at 1oa would have been a completely off the wall pick. Mckenzies list had 5 for slaf, 4 for wright and one for cooley.

Anyway, I'm a big fan of Slaf and I believe that he will dominate in this league, but Slaf and Cooley are not even the best players from 2022 draft, it's....

Lane FREAKING Hutson !!!!!!!!
A re-draft of 2022 would be like re-ordering the 7 Dwarves from alphabetically to by height.

Re-draft before 5 years have passed are stupid anyway. It is my opinion that anyone doing a re-draft before d+5 doesn't know what he is doing.

Here's a 2018 redraft done in 2021

Joel Farabe 5th. Even Bouchard 10th. Dobson 12th. Redraft before d+5 are stupid.

Solely based on yesterday game, Cooley was better than Slaf.
Back to the 2022 draft, I was hesitant between Cooley and Wright. 35% for Cooley, 35% for Wright, 30% for Slaf.

Re-drafts after d+5 are also stupid.

Re drafts experts think Cooley would have anything close to his 61pts in 104gp with the Habs.

In reality he would be at like .3 ppg and we would wonder why we let Slaf go in the Cooley discussion thread.

Got to feel a bit bad for the big goofball, who can't relate to that it takes a good third of the season to remember how to play the game that you've been playing since being a child.

We dodged the Kotkamiemi contract only to have the Kotkamiemi contract at home
Worse. Dollar for dollar, Kotkaniemi is a better player than Slafkovsky in terms of overall impact and hockey sense when contracts are taken into consideration.

Philly healthy scratched Michkov couple of games best thing ever happened to him. We could do same with Slaf or Dach
Indeed; if one team can do it to a far superior young player, the Canadiens can do it to Slafkovsky.

What was you opinion of Subban's 9 millions contract?
He was worthy of the nine million before he signed his bridge deal because he had proven while on his entry level contract that he was a Norris calibre defenseman based on all the advanced metrics, the eye test, and more. We could have had him for 7.5 but for the bridge deal, and that would have been a steal before injuries accumulated and his play fell off.

No one since Subban has proven more on his entry level deal with the Habs, certainly not Slafkovsky.
