With the effortless way he played last season, it seems like the least he could do is 70pts. I don’t love his shot selection yet — but he’s just a sophomore and as he’s grown into his frame he will become more optimized in that regard — but even today, his overall ability to impose himself on the game means he’s going to pick up a lot of points off of plays finished off by his linemates.

Hoping for a healthy big-ass year.

I really wanted to say 80+ lol but I think that will have to wait until we see a better PP/better supporting cast

70 pts for him next year is realistic for sure.

I see him to put 80 pts per year after that... he is that good. (Even more).

30g, 50a per year after next year, I don't see why he can't put that type of production.

Cautiously optimistic that he is even better this year but I remember how Mackinnon hit 63 points in his rookie season followed by 38 and a couple of 50+ point seasons. He didn't break out until year 5. Be careful at the expectations, he is still only 20.

Yep.

Yes logically, Slaf could do more than 50 points but we could also see him with 40 or 45 points.

I will add though that he is probably stronger now and way more confident. He could come out in year 3 and throughly dominate...so hard to tell. I think Rantanen hit 80+ in his 3rd season. It will be fun to watch.

The chances are very low that he won't improve his numbers considering he barely produced in the first half (2 goals and 8 pts in his first 31 games) and had a huge progression curve. The Slaf in the second half was essentially a different player than the Slaf in the first half. I doubt we'll ever see the Slaf of the first half over a long period again.

Caufield is the only smallish forward this team needs longterm. I hope he hits 35 goals this year.

First 80 games if we remove his bad sequence of 15 games without a points it's a pace of around 30ish point and then from game 80 to 121 it's a pace of 70 points.

Any information if Slafkovsky will play for Slovakia in the Olympic qualifiers. The tournament takes place in Bratislava from Aug 29 - Sep 1. The Slovaks have a few NHL players confirmed on the roster that includes Nemec, Tatar. Interesting that Austria is in the same group and only the top team will qualify.

I recall Slaf a month or so ago saying he wants to go, but the decision is up to the Habs on whether he goes or not. Haven't seen anything since though.

Dawson Mercer 2 seasons ago broke out with 27G and 29A only to drop to 33 points last year.
