Post-Game Talk: The Sieve We Know

Knob and Skinner are the two biggest culprits for the loss. Bouchard at least made up for his f***ups with three assists and finished at plus 1.

Hell, dressing Cam Dineen over Josh Brown might have been enough to spare us a goal and then we're looking at OT.
Why sign Henrique and Brown when you're paying them to shutdown the other team, especially with a minute left in a tie game and McDrai are probably tired from playing 3 minutes straight.

It's criminal that McDavid or and Draisaitl have to go supernova and the team has to score 5+ goals to win knowing fat f*** 74 will give up 3-4 a game regularly.
I joked in the GDT that Skinner shuts the door after letting in 4 goals. I was almost right. Looks like we're going to need 6+ goals each game to win.

When you say the "Whole Team Sucked" you should really exclude McDavid from that statement. It invalidates everything you just said. What he did last night is prove that he's still the best player in the game right now. Not a single intelligent person will ever say that he doesn't show up for the playoffs just because he doesn't have a Cup. That's 110% on management for their unprecedented incompetence, for no team with two players as good as McDrai have ever gone ten seasons without Stanley.

And maybe, just maybe, people are upset with Stu because this isn't the first time. Or second. Or third. Or tenth. He almost has a 50% shot of shitting the bed in the playoffs, like a lot of us were warning you guys about as you covered your ears and said "he's great, we're fine." This isn't a one-off, this is a routine that has emerged over two consecutive playoffs and likely three...
if you want to take it that way, take it that. I stand by what i say about blind rage.

Skinner cares more about his tv ads, his podcasts, and his books rather than make the saves that his team needs. Maybe he should look for a different career like being a social media influencer. f*** 74.

Agreed on all fronts. But this is a goaltender management has relied on and banked on heavily. Even to the point of trading down when a top goaltender prospect was available.

This is the hill they will die on unfortunately, and I don't blame Knob at all. This management team is not going to let him run with Pickard even if he wanted to.
Knob should hold these morons responsible by resigning, let the truth out, mud on their face

Sometimes I wonder if the Oilers even seriously take their analytics team seriously.
I doubt Michael Parkatti would be like "Josh Brown? Yes! He's a good player to give a 3 yr deal to. Get the papers ready!"

There's people in the organization management that firmly believed that there was no real upgrade over our current tandem. Every single one of them should be turfed out of this organization once the off season starts.
Jackson and Bowman are both big probability guys by reports. Bowman is a finance/numbers guy by education and his early NHL work under GM Smith in Chicago was analytics support. Bulking up the analytics team including Parkatti was one of Jackson's first moves after proclaiming it as a priority to modernize their organizational model. It's hard to parcel out how analytics support fits into operational decision making (game and series preparation) and strategic functions (trades, drafting, etc) but it can't be divorced from their big decisions (which have largely been mediocre).

For the record, I too was pumping Blackwell as a buy low, high upside option going back seasons when the Jack Campbell Experience bit the pillow. There was a lot of distortion there with the recurring injury and drama with Jersey. But real good pedigree and head above water reset in an awful San Jose organization to feel he would be a good reset goalie in a stable organization.

Even though they missed out on Blackwood, they still should've traded for a goalie on TDL. It's truly baffling how they churned to the media's ears who then mouthed off "well oiler fans, the management doesn't believe there's an upgrade out there over Skinner and Pickard so they are ready to sink or swim with Stuart Skinner” in a season where McDavid and Bouch are still on bargain contracts before they get paid $$$$$ is so f***ing frustrating to witness.

Anybody with common sense could see that the Oilers needed a goalie. Oilers management? Denial, denial, and more denial.

Nope. They decided to go with Chiarelli for the third time in a row and here we are. Never mind the optics, he also screwed over that Hawks team terribly.

Going from Chiarelli to Holland and now to Bowman.
Just wasting f***ing years and years of McDrai in their prime.

Hiring the likes of McCrimmon or Zito when they were available and interviewed would've placed more stanley cups in this franchise already.

Jeff Jackson can GTFO.

Second period Edmonton 4 shots. TIL 29 scored at the end McDavid was -2. Waiting 39 minutes to come out of a coma is the fault of EVERY player dressed The team slept to 4-0 deficit and were lucky to comeback. Hope they’ve all taking blame and come out and play with a lead going forward

At least they came out.
Stuart Skinner on the other hand doesn't even wait to come out. He just stands or flops there and looks puzzled when he gets scored on. Look at his dumb face after Danault scored a knucklepuck despite not having the full stick blade on the puck before shooting it.

Skinner f***ing sucks. He's the sole reason why McDrai won't ever win a Stanley cup as long as he's in net.

How the hell can anyone shit on McDavid after willing us to an epic comeback on his own? Are these people even fans of this team?

Like I said brother, Stuart Skinner supporters are master classes at being glasslighters.
Maybe 74 can make a new ad involving his precious supporters because clearly he's better at ads than stopping a puck and his supporters are better at being cucks than knowledgeable fans.

The buy time window for Blackwood was probably last season. Personally I view the media, in all its forms, is just noise. Take what they say with a grain of salt. Colorado showed there is a way to upgrade or at least do major roster change (whether it ultimately works or not). Jackson/Bowman haven't really substantively moved the needle much in their work and have ignored the roster's biggest weakness/question mark.

Skinner's season is his worst on a three-year regression of performance results. I can get not throwing away a homegrown development phase goaltender who should be the window team's apprentice as originally envisioned, but, this team needed at minimum a 1A quality veteran battery mate to mitigate the high risk of an inconsistent young goalie. Oiler management hasn't been very good in their work.
