Post-Game Talk: The Sieve We Know

He made several big saves in the first two periods when his mates managed 0 on 10 shots. As an OLD goalie positive momentum has a lot to do with tenders confidence.

Now imagine the momentum from the Oilers especially 97 going supernova and the main catalyst to tie the game only for 74 in net to cost the game with a knucklepuck that Danault didn't even get a full stick on.

It's just a daily occurrence where Skinner lets in softies that just kills this team. He f***ing sucks.

Ya, get to OT. Lockknob shoots himself in the foot again.

He shot himself in the foot the moment he decided that J Brown should be in the lineup.
I don't dislike Knob, but his coaching decisions the whole season as a whole should rightfully get criticized. Guy worked magic last year and then does stupid shit this year including scratching Jeff Skinner multiple times or playing him with 4th line scrubs.

Even asking Skinner simply to move laterally from post to post is asking for too much. Guy's literally on dial up internet connection 99% of the time. Seeing his 'stunned' face after Danault's knucklepuck was disgusting to see especially after Connor tied the game.

In regards to coaching, Knoblauch better not f***ing play J Brown again either. If Stecher's still not ready to go, I'd still rather play Dineen over J Brown. Dineen can at least skate and move the puck. J Brown can't do shit other than looking like a piece of meat for the kings licking their chops when he's on the ice. Was a huge mistake playing him which resulted in only 4:54 TOI the whole game and had the other 5 D playing extra minutes is inexcusable of Knob. Frankly getting real sick and tired of his coaching decisions too.
Management put this team in this situation by spending big in all other position areas. Putting your peak window years on a development phase project goaltender is beyond high risk especially when this season Skinner's regression are the worst results of his three year run. This team giving up quality, not quantity rush chances with a volatile goaltender who's well below league average stopping them is head in the sand management. Throw in losing their best defending defenseman whose been hurt a lot of this season.

Skinner's no bueno this season. But an information based organization with a pumped up analytics support team have put all their chips on a streaky development phase goaltender with a plucky career journeyman back-up.

Knob and Skinner are the two biggest culprits for the loss. Bouchard at least made up for his f***ups with three assists and finished at plus 1.

Hell, dressing Cam Dineen over Josh Brown might have been enough to spare us a goal and then we're looking at OT.

Yep. Dineen can at least skate and pass. Would've prevented the Oilers from running their other 5 d into the ground especially Bouchard playing 28:20 (highest on the team) and Nurse 25:17 after benching the pylon 44. Knob was a f***ing idiot last night.

There are vegetables that could do a better job. Bowman getting hired was just another red flag. I still can’t believe they hired that idiot. Oh wait, yes I can.

We pretty much wasted a great game by Mcdavid and a poor game from Kuemper. Who knows if Kuemper will be this bad again but Mcdavid will have a few more big games.

Sometimes I wonder if the Oilers even seriously take their analytics team seriously.
I doubt Michael Parkatti would be like "Josh Brown? Yes! He's a good player to give a 3 yr deal to. Get the papers ready!"

There's people in the organization management that firmly believed that there was no real upgrade over our current tandem. Every single one of them should be turfed out of this organization once the off season starts.

4 goals on his first 15 shots this post has to be hyperbole right? The only time he made a save when it was directly into his pad or into the crest. Even on the last pp the kings had they were doing one timers from the Blue line and all Skinner could muster up was throwing his glove upwards hoping it hits it

As I said in the GDT, everyone, including @CROTT, pretty much 100% of the fanbase agreed that dressing Josh Brown over Cam Dineen was a really, really bad idea. And 100% of the fanbase was 100% right.

Bouchard was horrendous, let’s not pretend he made dazzling plays when McDavid went supernova. This is how he get’s the majority of his points. Touches

The Oilers dint take anything seriously except gouging their fans. The plan since day one has always been “hope Mcdavid wills the team to a Cup” and a decade in their master plan hasn’t borne fruit. They’ll never, ever figure it out.

Nobody is pretending he made dazzling plays, but he consistently gets and maintains the puck for us and that's how he ended up with three assists. He certainly made his share of mistakes and desperately needs Ekholm back.

It's too bad our media has no balls when it comes to asking hard questions.
Meanwhile 2 days ago a media member bluntly asks Nico Harrison aka Dallas MAVS GM on why he shouldn't get fired after getting fleeced of a century by trading Luka Doncic and getting knocked out in the playins.
Our media? Looks for the easiest scapegoat on the players.

Agreed on all fronts. But this is a goaltender management has relied on and banked on heavily. Even to the point of trading down when a top goaltender prospect was available.

This is the hill they will die on unfortunately, and I don't blame Knob at all. This management team is not going to let him run with Pickard even if he wanted to.
Fair enough

Guess we just hope Skinner gets it together for game 2. The defense too, but the defense has been what it has been all year. Sloppy, turnovers, etc. Hopefully Skinner can bare down, and make a couple saves to get us the win

I give him credit for that save in the third period. That split save that kept us alive. He is capable of good saves but unfortunately it's far and few between
