Amadio is worse than Gaudette. Gaudette is at least in the vicinity of creating offense. Amadio is just a black hole.

The entire team sucked tonight (with the exception of Ullmark). Calgary consistently pinned us in our zone. And when the puck was in theirs, they calmly exited with little difficulty.

Ottawa really had no business winning this game. But they found a way.

I actually thought our 4th line was the most effective. At least they came in hard on the forecheck, crashed and banged and caused some turnovers. I really hope they bring their A game against Vancouver. It won't be pretty if they don't.

Our 4th line has been great. Greig has been playing much better. That’s why I think they should switch things up, he deserves more opportunity and that’s why Green is playing him (and Gregor) more than Gaudette.

I trust Amadio out there more than Gaudette personally. Gaudette doesn’t win puck battles. He’s better offensively but that’s all he’s been doing. He’s not playing like the Gaudette who was playing 4th line C at the beginning of the year anymore.

I’d put Gaudette back on the 4th. He was producing there and Ostapchuk/Gregor are good players that can create offense for Gaudette.

We need more speed with Stu and G. Gaudette is not it. It worked for a bit but things are going back to normal.

Gaudette is opportunistic. He has to be in the right place at the right time. Sometimes he's there and sometimes he's not. Amadio is incapable of doing anything with the puck. He's a neutral zone turnover machine.

If you put Gaudette on the 4th line, who are you playing with 18 and 28?

Personally, if I was head coach, I'd put Pinto in the top 6. At least until Perron comes back.

It was, but just in the sense that the Sens had no real sustained offensive pressure and could not make anything happen. But for a lot of it Calgary didn’t either (although they were better than us) and we weren’t giving them insane chances.

It’s the game management piece that has always been missing. I think they knew they didn’t have their legs but instead of trying to cheat for offense they just kept things simple. Obviously Ullmark allows you to do that. But I am happy they recognized where they were at and didn’t start blowing the zone early, they are getting smarter.

Exactly. We're not used to this kind of play, but all good teams learn to win these kinds of games.

They determined Pinto slashing the ice was a penalty among a long list of other things so far this season.

Huberdeau lifted his skate off the ice and motioned it towards the puck making contact. If that's not kicking then I don't know what is.

It's one of those "we'll call the letter of the law against Ottawa and the spirit of the law against whoever they play".

There's not even an argument in my mind. I've seen skates come off the ice trying to stop, I've done it a million times when I played and it looks nothing like what Huberdeau did which was... an obvious kick at the puck.

If you want to call the spirit of the law and say "that's not an egregious kick", fine. But call every game like that. And not "well Stutzle put his stick on the ice but it knocked the Carolina player's stick out of his hands, NO GOAL!"
Pinto slash was not reviewed. If it could be reviewed it would have been called back

Greig on the left side.

I think we need Pinto at C personally. Unless you put Greig as 3C….

Wouldnt be against it

Of course some douchebag has to call into the postgame show to hate on Kenzie.

Everyone has their opinion, but why even bother to do that? She's not polished but she brings good vibes and will undoubtedly get better with experience. Sheesh.

She’s not polished and could use a “signature” goal call as her current goal call is a little lame, but those come with time and experience.

She definitely comes off as thoroughly prepared and professional though which is key. She’s controlling the controllable.

I’ve been impressed overall.

Yeah thats just a misogynistic take. She has been fine at worst. I think she has been doing a great job so far. That guy probably likes Dean Brown's calls where he talks about himself half the game.

Tkachuk Norris Batherson
Giroux Stutzle Pinto
Gregor Grieg Gaudette
Cousins Ostapchuk Crookshank

Healthy Scratch: Amadio

Nahhhh no way I take out Amadio for Gaudette or Crookshank.

Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Greig - Stutzle - Giroux
Cousins - Pinto - Amadio
Gregor - Ostapchuk - Gaudette

If somehow they decide Pinto on wing:

Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Giroux - Stutzle - Pinto
Cousins - Greig - Amadio
Gregor - Ostapchuk - Gaudette

It feels like Gaudette is 13th F when Perron is back. No way Osty is taken out at this point.

My take on hockey commentators for regional broadcasts is that they should not be good or impartial. They need to be the biggest most wild homers possible.

I used to download the games from a Russian torrent site, I mean I didn't do that because it would have been illegal, and the Boston commentator is the best in the biz. It's like they went to a Boston sports bar and pulled out the loudest most opinionated guy who sort of has heard about hockey and told him to double down on the New England accent.

How does it feel having the worst wrong opinion the world has ever seen?

They could have huddled on it but yeah I get it's not a review in Toronto with multiple angles.

To me that's a distinct kicking motion. Skate is taken off the ice. Skate moves towards the puck and goal as it makes contact with the puck.

I think we have all experienced or seen a skate leave the ice when making a hard stop countless times on TV and on the ice but that's not what Huberdeau was doing. Despite that... Toronto decided to go with that kind of an interpretation.

It's another reminder this league has no consistency or standard.
