An "Always hasbeen" sounds like the likely next GM or coach.

Even a has been would be a step up from the never was that is the status quo.

Related note: what are the odds Terry attempted to hire Gordon Bombay before an assistant had to break it to him that he was fictional?

What’s like…the best case scenario right now?

They’re in a room somewhere trying to figure out how they’re going to frame Adams’s promotion so that he can continue to ruin the franchise but a new GM at least doesn’t have to listen to Terry’s stupid ass on the phone?
They’re in a room alright. They’ve formed a circle, and Kevyn is the pivot man.

The only enjoyment I have left regarding this team is watching people somehow be genuinely surprised by their lack of efforts to improve every offseason.

Don’t know how people still have the ability to be surprised by anything at this point. Especially if the result is far under the minimum bar needed to be taken seriously.
For some reason I thought of Ben Bishop when I read your post.

As a reminder to myself (and other similarly minded people who have been through many management and ownership changes): resist the urge to say that it can't get worse. It can ALWAYS get worse, and often does.

The first corollary of Murphy’s Law: whenever you think something is as bad as it can get, it will get worse. I suppose at this point we could just start call it Sabres law.

Its like a horror movie when someone gets saved and their savior is worse than the original captor.

If you told me in 2011 that Lindy Ruff would be in charge of the Sabres' roster in 2025, I would have laughed... and this drought would be no surprise.

Just to come back to something from the around the NHL thread: the Carolina Hurricanes who are one of the most structured, diligent teams in the NHL have an entire line of Sabres cast offs. In fact, I believe they have eight or nine guys who played for them this year who used to be in this organization. If we throw out Chatfield into the entire thing there’s another.

They don’t understand how to slot individuals into useful roles. I swear their idea for roster construction is the sa as a 12-year-old playing a video game.

If this is the Pegula's private jet (lots of flights out of Sarasota to Buffalo, so I'd say likely), it appears he's on his way to his Yacht.

The only thing of note is the stops in Nashville, but could easily be about picking up/dropping off Bills staff after the draft (or players that were drafted)

Edit: A brief look shows another private jet leaving Buffalo and going to the Miami Executive Airport as well

Either way, I'd wager the meetings are done.

Why? Do you realize how many people on the boards here, and in the Sabres universe wanted or "presented" Ruff for the GM position? It doesn't shock me if that is true one bit.

Lindy picking the roster would be concerning

Seems like he was a big part of the Lafferty acquisition. And while the 4th line was decent when it actually played together I have little confidence that some "big" decisions will be executed correctly.

Like we all want toughness but are we going to see peterka jettisoned for Steve ott 2.0? I don't think Lindy is necessarily that dumb but I'm not 100% sure
