The way they operate, I doubt they drop the Appert plan sadly. They move very, very deliberately on some fronts.

The coaching staff change the team needs the most is Wilford's removal. I'm not sure who the assistant that has a knack for getting more out of his charges could be. Years ago it was Rick Bowness but they basically need the new Bowness (or the son of the new Bowness with how old Rick actually is).
Wonder if they can talk McKee or Patrick into coming back ?

How has Paetsch done in Rochester in your opinion ?

I've thought about McKee and while I like his body of work in Kitchener and Brantford, I also notice that there are almost no NHL defensemen who have come through his bluelines there. Maybe more of a drafting thing, though going back a bit some of his Kitchener teams don't have anyone under NHL contract now. *shrug*

Patrick lost out in the WHL playoffs the same day as McKee as Victoria lost to Spokane last week. Maybe, depends on if he doesn't want to ride the bus in the 'dub any more. Then there is digging into what happened with this -

And making sure that's no longer an issue.

The infuriating thing is that there were no positive signs about this season at all. They absolutely stunk and if anything they outperformed what the metrics said they should've. There is no excuse for Kevyn or almost anyone on the coaching staff to be given another year but that's exactly what's going to happen. Can't wait to see Tuch traded at the deadline for a 2nd and conditional 4th after everything goes to shit by early December.

Here me out. We've tried Dickhead Murray, Bighead Botterill, and 5-head Adams. All have been uniquely terrible and condescending, and have brought the franchise irreparable harm.

In pointed contrast, Conehead is just out here selling a relatively high quality product. He listens to the fans and comforts them with libation. He sells beer in Buffalo, which means he has been a part of a successful business. He knows the value of a dollar. He keeps his business on wheels, allowing him to shift to an ever-changing market. He is not only the right choice for the job, he is the most qualified individual we have had in 12 years.

Paetsch thoughts ?

Honestly? Seems like the absolute least they could do. Nothing against him, but hiring a guy who is basically there because he was around is how we wind up with Adams, Ellis, and such.
well, there not lining up lol :thumbu: but having Dahlin/Power/Byram should make the job attractive

Lets see if Lindy CAN ACTUALLY attract good assistants

They've painted themselves into a shitty situation over and over again. And it seems like they are hell bent on making sure Appert is the next HC. I'll tell you, I would take Leone over Appert every day of the week and twice on game day.

Rummaging through Ruff's assistant coach history again and not anticipating they do anything. Adams' obsession with "wanting to be here" flies in the face of actually having to interview someone who isn't "here" to come work "here". It already is in the way of the concept of winning, a self-imposed criteria that hinders their ability to be adroit in the face of challenges. I know, I know, I laughed at the idea of the Sabres being flexible and adaptive too.

Still no statement from the team. I guess they are just hoping everyone gives up and goes away.

I agree that Leone looks like a much better candidate than appert. Imo, the amerks were disappointing under appert minus one playoff run where they won a couple rounds.

With less expectations, they have exceeded apperts team the past 2 years. In the playoffs, rochester has actually shown some backbone and are standing up to and defeating the crunch.

I always thought appert underachieved in rochester and can't think of any accomplishments
