I was at game 6 against the Capitals in 2017 - when Washington scored in OT to end the series, I remember the ovation that the fans gave the team on their way off the ice.

I told my buddy that we were building something extremely special here between team & fans, and I think a number of these players will become the most beloved Leafs of all time.

Here we are, all these years later, and for all their skill & talent, they have fast become one of the most unlikeable groups of athletes I've ever watched play my fav sport. To go from that, to this "soulless" & "spoiled" group in a matter of a few years, is the most dejected I've felt following this team, and I've been a fan since the early 90s

Was at that game as well and had/have the exact same thoughts.

This is spot on, and why I have complete and utter disdain for this team and organization

Soulless is closest I could come to it.

Soft hasn't got many hits. Being kind, or gravitating to soulless rather than soft? Or was soft added later?

Missing Something.

Self-centered & Self-serving - preoccupied with oneself and one's affairs, egoistical and self-absorbed.

The Inmates are running the Asylum, and its all about money and fame and dictating their own ice-time and opportunities.

That is why they play to the level of their competition, and lose to weaker teams because their arrogance gets the better of them, because they feel they can skate by on talent and do not need hard work to succeed.

That is partially the fault of weak management, who hand out big fat undeserving contracts first, which creates this complancent environment, and then tell them to go earn them, but then forced to answer to what should be their employees not employers.,

"Soft" was a late addition to the list.

I would swap out the team and swap in the Leaf board and I think you also have a good explanation for why this sub is exponentially more whiney and bitchy than others.

This isn't a defense of the team, the team is dog shit and management has tied its own hands, and I think "soft" is a good S...but if you look at the day in and day out melt downs on this forum, I think the "soft" label extends beyond the team and the management and into the fans.

Spoiled and Sensitive

and then there's the rest of the team

couldn't have said it any better myself Mess, and I truly mean it, no sarcasm nor satire at all in saying that.
