The Ryane Clowe Poll - Re-Sign him or Let him Walk?

It's both. @ 3 million, I'm fine with a 3-4 year contract. @ more, it's less.

This is not the good ole days, a contract like that would be difficult to move if Clowe didn't work out and painful to deal with if Clowe is becoming less effective due to wear and tear. Plus, chances are he's never going to score more than 15-18 goals again (and that will be in a good year). Seems like that's an awful lot of money to throw at a glorified 3rd liner.

I'm not a fan of resigning him. Assuming Richards is bought out, Stepan and McDonagh should be our top priorities. Even if we do have the cash, it couldn't hurt to have a little extra in our pockets to flash at Hank.

Glorified 3rd liner? He was an effective player here when healthy. He has been an effective player his entire career up until this season when he had an injured shoulder.

People think he is some 20 point player. He is much more than that.

LET HIM WALK! Some team will no doubt take the risk of signing him to a big contract. And whenever there is "risk" involved in any deal the concerning the Rangers, move the other way. This franchise just simply never has it go their way with signings that have any sort of risk.

If you don't sign Clowe (or another winger) you go into next season with Hags, kreider and MZA as your top 3 LW and both Hags and Cally as top 6 wingers. I'm of the opinion that neither of these things will get you to the cup. Not saying Clowe is the answer, but another winger is needed

To me, giving him a 1 year deal to prove himself and giving up that additional pick would be a waste. Either you're confident in the guy or you aren't. I like Clowe, and I wish we had the player has been in our lineup night after night, but back-to-back concussions for a guy who plays the way he does is frightening.
