I don't like that I don't hear anything from Adams about 3C, like they just gave Krebs the place in advance. It looks like Botterill 2.0

All I’ve heard from Adams is about a 4C, not a 3C. I wish I could tell you otherwise.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall to know what Stammer's priorities are this time around. Is it another cup run? Money? A desirable city to end his career?

Tampa can offer all of those. I've heard he wants to finish as a life-long Tampa player.

I know his defense has come a long way, but do we trust him at C? Is he still strong enough defensively, or would he be our need at top-6 wing? I had him penciled in on the wing.

I imagine he’d be a winger no matter where he goes.

I thought he was talking about top 6 forwards, but it could also be see and top 9 C.

I think there will be a trade with Winnipeg. I don't know what for (maybe just Iafallo) but I just have a gut feeling there will be a deal there.

Could also be the other way around. Veteran GMs continue to treat Adams like a sucker.

I could fully believe WPG asking for a 1st + Savoie/Kulich + for Ehlers with no extension, which is insane.

Anthony from xB said Adams was okay with the price to get him, it was instead held it up was the extension negotiations with the player.

Sounds like they are still not upping their offer to Stamkos though.

I know he gets talked about around this board in reverential terms, but his 5-on-5 game has eroded as a winger in Tampa. He's not a center any more. He's a PP specialist with a lot of experience. Tampa I'm sure puts a certain value on that which doesn't match what Stamkos is interested in being paid.

That's what I figured. He'd be a solid Skinner replacement, and wouldn't cost assets. Needs to be a short-term deal, though.

I dunno, Im a bit intrigued with what they do with the bottom-6 after the Beck trade. I'm actually a bit relieved they scoped a guy out, saw his usage and what he was still capable of, and upped the offer enough to pry him out of Washington. I dont think they had him on the market at all, so it needed to be an offer that was hard to refuse, and that gives me hope that Adams cares more about building a winning hockey team rather than winning trades on HFboards.

Let's see how the next week or two plays out.

I don't think he is. Even with Point and Kucherov out there, he's a liability in his own zone playing for Tampa. Buyer beware.

Not taking sides on this issue, but there was Armstrong being indignant by taking the lesser offer for Chychrun 15 months ago.

Respectfully, I think this view comes from a misunderstanding of what Adams said in that press conference. What he implied was not not that Arizona accepted a lesser offer, but rather that Arizona requested more from us than what they took from Ottawa. I don't think it has been or ever will be confirmed what we offered, but my take on what Adams said is that Arizona had similar offers from Ottawa and Buffalo and tried to leverage that to get more from Buffalo (specfically, one of our top prospects rather than our 2023 1st). Adams wouldn't budge on trading Savoie or Kulich and Arizona choose the comparable Ottawa offer, which turned out to be a higher pick than what were offering.
