Anybody still play Doom and Doom 2? Man I don't know what it is about the gameplay and art design but I keep coming back to those games all the time.
Yes, I play one or the other every other year, pretty much whenever a new release or mod comes out. They're my happy place.

Yup. I play those and Brutal Doom. The originals can be clunky but if you are using a source port the games are still fun today. Granted, I am biased, because I don't play new games.

I just discovered The Unseen N64 mod for Doom 1 and 2. Plays beautifully. Brutal Doom is also fantastic, I agree. I hardly play anything new myself.

C64 was the first system I really remember playing, in the late 80s. We had a 2600 but I don't really remember much on that besides Pitfall and ET. C64 had River Raid, Spy Hunter, Karateka, that Bruce Lee game, Summer and Winter Olympics, Ghostbusters, so much good stuff.

Wishing I could descend into the Stygian Abyss right now.
I haven't played it in decades, but just learned that it's been ported to Unity and the Godot engine. The former port, UnderworldExporter, is older and likely more playable, while UnderworldGodot is newer and less playable.

Also, I just spent the last few months playing through The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall in Daggerfall Unity. It scratches a similar itch and is 100% playable and complete (and the game, itself, is free). I highly recommend that if you want some old school dungeon crawling action.
