Kylington - will get signed. I read that Calgary does want him back. The issue is they are offering him a 1 year deal and he wants more like 2 years. I’m sure they or another team will sign him eventually…

Could be the opposite. His agent was trying to talk sense with Klingberg but he wanted to be paid like a star. I remember telling Stars fans that he's no better than Petry and they laughed at me. Who's laughing now

I with you on this. I bet you his agent was trying to tell him to sign the fair deal with the Stars but he wanted to cash in. Fired him. Not saying this is true because I am not sure but that could be what happened.

I like it when these situations back fire. Oilers should have done that with Nurse too. Far too many players who have padded stats on good teams and try for max deals. Goes to their head and don't realize that it's a team game and most of them are just not on the top tier level.

Weird to just assume the opposite. My understanding is players largely defer to their agents, because contracts are what they do. Klinberg would have to be a special kind of egotist to go against what should be more knowledgeable, professional guidance, and that’s just not how it’s done 90% of the time. They have agents because agents know the money side better.

Anywho, not gonna dig too deep into it, but I believe Klinberg’s agent hasn’t had much success since. Again, speaks to a failing on his end, not a bad client.

God I hope not
As long as neither wind up with that hideous dog trash attempt of a jersey they wear in the worlds most overrated arena, It’ll be acceptable.

Hoping Leafs take a look at Blais and Bortuzzo (with the Hakanpa situation). Both have Berube ties too.
Please overpay for Bortuzzo and play him in your top 4. His lack of speed and offensive inability will make for some entertaining posts on here by Leafs fans.

Never forget Lebanc's one year deal.

I'll never forget how a few impatient Devils talked themselves that offer sheeting Labanc was a solution and that the only reason it didn't happen was because it was an old boy's club.

As for Labanc, I always assumed it was a handshake deal. He signed cheap for one year to help the cap situation and still got a 4 year, 18.9 million dollar contract despite a down season. So I always took it more to be a 5 year, 19.9 million dollar deal that skirted the cap.

He's a tough case. He was a top 4 guy without question in 21-22. But then he was gone for a year and a half and looked like a bottom pairing guy in the 30 games he played last year. I think it's a bad bet on him getting back to top 4 play and I was very bullish on him compared to most of our fans before he left. I think he got some bad agency advice and will be close to a league min guy now.

JVR is a big forward who scored 40 points last year and consistently recently. Why is he still unsigned ?

5 even strength goals in 71 games does stick out. Not sure how many teams have a spot for a bottom six LW to be a PP specialist nowadays. In terms of usage, JvR was 4th among Bruins forwards in PP TOI/game but ranked pretty low in even strength ice time.

38 points in Boston last season might not translate to be the same elsewhere.

JVR was solid last year just got sick/hurt during second half and didn’t look right. Surprised he hasn’t signed anywhere yet.

I don’t know if it’s a good or bad sign that 9 of these available players are former Canadiens.

I really don't think Sprong is that far off from Duclair, both good offensively yet terrible defensively. Both changing teams every year it seems. Yet Duclair doesn't have a problem re-signing every time. Yes Duclair has more speeed but he doesn't use it defensively.

I heard he was asking for more than 3 and the Flames said no more than 2. Conroy has been cool at the idea every time Calgary media ask. Kylington overplayed his hand badly.
