It's messy but were not going through anything that other teams haven't.Feels like I said this many times already.

Any news you get against your boycott is disappointing.
You've said it many times and it continues to be untrue. This was an unprecedented sell off of players in their prime because of contract pressure points and an owner hoping for a new CBA to "fix" the bonus structures they can't or won't pay. Teams rebuild because their window has closed, typically from aging out. Teams rebuilding because every one of their stars is a UFA at the same time is not common at all, in fact I can't find a single example in the NHL.

Are they rebuilding? Ya, nobody really denies that, they obviously are. Why they are rebuilding and using it as a cover for the truth is what everyone has an issue with.

Other teams rebuild when they're not winning, Most teams with 3 superstars make the playoffs, consistently.
Most teams suppliment their star players with a supporting cast of depth players. Most teams change coaches when it's obvious the current one has lost the room long ago.

I think it's pretty obvious we aren't most teams

Where would we get those depth players that would make us a cup contender?

How many more coaches were we going to hire before changing the players?

Yes, other teams decide to abandon their core after half a season of poor play after a summer of losing their top D pairing, a top 6 forward, and making a massive trade ruining team chemistry.

You're only kidding yourself if you think this happened for any reason other than them all hitting UFA at the same time and this franchises financial state.

You rebuild when your roster is filled with guys on the wrong side of 30, and you have little/no prospects coming.

You retool when you have good young core players, but trash all around them. Which is exactly what we had.

Sign the core players, get rid of all the garbage, and replace with prospects (which we have a lot of), and other trade acquisitions.

If you don't understand that, then you're trolling (likely), or you just don't understand how these things work.

Chemistry was ruined before the trades, and is actually the reason why most of the trades happened.

You also rebuild when none of your core players want to re-sign here after being offered a fair deal. But yeah just keep throwing money at a recipe that wasn"t working.

Trade? Free agency? Draft?

Maybe try hiring an actual experienced coach for once? Someone who wouldn't be the cheapest coach in the entire league

A GM could, ya know, do his job and work towards that. Or he could just throw up his hands at the first sign of difficulty.

Bargain bin coaches is all this team is interested in and it's why we keep finding ourselves back at this point.

It's messy, as we're going through something no other team in the history of the league has gone through. Feels like I have said this many times.

Any news you get against the Senators organization is disappointing.

No, their lineup had just been decimated with no attempts to fill holes. They lost Methot, Macarthur and essentially Karlsson because of the surgery. Their best player and team driver, and collectively 3 of their top 6 or 7 players with no adequate replacements whatsoever. Hmm, I wonder why they didn't come flying out of the gate.

Not spinning anything, even if you wanted them to stay, they didn't so we're left with rebuilding weather you want to or not.

Enjoy the rebuild.
Lol, enjoy the the financially motivated firesale you've bought hook, line and sinker.

Just remember, since we are rebuilding solely because of money, one day soon, that money issue will again be at the forefront standing in the way of success. In fact, probably as soon as this summer when they hire their next bargain bin coach guaranteed to fail from day one.

Another guaranteed to fail coach but we should keep throwing money at roster players even though it clearly wasn't working.

Florida isn't winning with their current core. They might as well trade Barkov, Ekblad, Huberdeau, and Trochek then.
