I think fellow fans are easy to please as long as you do a standard dull original six knock-off with no black on the numbers, gloves, pants or helmets.

I think that's what non fans like. They prefer the boring classic look and hate that our logo and brand concept came from the 90s. At least we like and embrace the burgundy and logo. I don't want to look like everyone else or pretend that we existed in the 60s. Keep a little flair.

I agree. I think we should embrace our 90's look and style more. Our third jerseys are always more "classic" looking, but our home and away should stay reminiscent of where/when he came from.

That Icethetics concept that Avs_19 posted with Mackinnon's name on it just screams "Colorado Avalanche" to me. Not only does it look good, but it just looks like the jerseys my favourite team should be wearing. I hope we see exactly that.

Edit: Not really sure why the shoulders make it look like a rapper's wife beater shirt but even so i still like it. Would prefer that to be fixed a little but i'm still cool with it just because the rest of the concept is so perfect.

People who say stuff like that are just nitpicking. People said Pittsburghs retro 3rd this season looked like an apron that was too small, yet it still looks fantastic. People are born to complain.

I know it's been posted before, but I haven't seen it in a while and it's by far my favorite concept:

The design is a unique look unlike any other in the league, but also subtle enough to where it doesn't seem gimmicky. The mountainous look clearly represents the state and it doesn't sacrifice attention to the logo.

I'd prefer a more simple bottom striping on the jersey then a cheesy looking mountain type thing.

I thought I was the only one who saw the wife beater shirt.

That's not a concept.. That's going back to their original look. If they didn't go to that in 2007 why would they do that now??

Plus, if they do go back, just go back to the exact same jersey they had originally and not some weird adaptation.

Because Reebok forced them all to look a certain way?

ha, no they didn't.

The Avs decided to go another way.

There is plenty of proof they Avs could do whatever they want with the edge system but decided to switch it up. ( The Canadiens and Devils have the exact same look. )

Hence why I think any concept going back to a mountain striping pattern is pointless.

Yes, they did. Without a doubt.

Where is yours?

Umm the simple fact that they don't have their original jerseys anymore and it's been 8 years since the Edge switch over and they haven;t changed jerseys... Like so many teams have.

The Canadiens and Devils kept their exact same looks, even though it broke the edge system.

Plenty of teams, almost all of them, have gone back to normal looks since the Edge takeover.

Yes but doesn't this suggest that they were forced into something?

Now, the Avs having not done anything after that has rightfully resulted in public outcry. It could suggest they're happy with it. Or maybe they just don't care that much.

No...

If they were 100% forced into something they would have changed back like all those other teams have.

The Avs wanted to go another route, it's pretty darn obvious. People here won't give up on nostalgia and refuse to admit it.

I don't expect us to go back to the uniforms we previously wore but I thought the RBK Edge guidelines to start the whole thing were pretty obvious. Blues just switched their atrocities for this year.

It just takes the Avs a while to make changes and get with the times in everything they do. We all know that. How long did they take to finally upgrade the jumbotron? I heard complaints from fans and media about that thing and the in arena entertainment for years before they made a change. Hell, they had Joe Sacco as a HC in their organization for 6 years before deciding it might be time to move on. They just like to move a bit slowly but they'll get there eventually.

I hope they do go back to their original set, I loved it too.

I just don't think it's gonna happen. I think it would have happened years ago if they wanted to do it.

So with that mindset, I think its pointless to do concepts based on that striping pattern and instead focus on all new designs.

I agree with all of this.

On another note, I'm very excited to see what the league has come up with for the Stadium Series. Why would you not just go to throwbacks on those when it's a huge crowd pleaser? And another sure thing we'll see this year is an anniversary patch. Not that it matters much.

When the EDGE jerseys first came out Reebok gave teams a list of, say, 6-7 templates that they could work with. Teams didn't have full artistic control over the jerseys as they were restricted by what the EDGE technology could do. As the years have gone by teams have been able to do new things though. The Avs would be able to use their previous jersey design now that the technology has improved. Whether they choose to do so is another question.

Yeah I heard the mountain striping was a no go originally on the Edge template, they probably could do it now. I agree that if they were that upset about it they would have changed the jerseys a long time ago. I'll be fine either way going back to it or trying something fresh. And truly fresh not boring "fresh" that has them pretending to be an original 6 team. So most people would probably hate truly "fresh" so the original look tends to be the most agreeable idea.

I'll be in the minority here, but if they re-fresh things I will be disappointed. I'd rather them change it up a bit. Tweak the colors (I'd like the burgundy be a bit more of a red tone), change the logo, stripes on the bottom of the jersey, etc. Going back to the old jerseys would be great at some point in the future after time has passed from the current logo, but I think they need to move on from some of the 90s feel it all has now.
