Mark my words, it won't happen. We will get the referee screw job over and over. We got downright molested in the last two rounds. No matter what we did, the call was on us and not our opponents. Today Mazzen should've been called for at least a minor, maybe a major, and certainly a suspension. Instead, it was a call against us and the game was tied.

In Game 2, same thing: Lundqvist gets tackled as if he's a quarterback getting sacked, yet the goal counted. Same in several Montreal games.

Refs 1 : Rangers 0.

Major or suspension? I don't think so, but that definitely was a penalty on him all day, every day.

I disagree.

It's not a conspiracy. Like I said, it's absolutely unacceptable refereeing because refs league-wide are inept. It's not against the Rangers solely.

It just turns out two huge calls in this series ****ed us directly.

Should be 3-2 and we should be playing Monday, and that really hurts. But it's not Bettman telling the refs to **** the Rangers over.

If my team won the cup because of some awful refereeing, I would not enjoy it.

I was thinKing the same thing.ever since bettman came into the league he made his mark and you could see it in the cup run in 94 also. He practically admitted he had to help the small market teams and those that make less to go far and make more.

I absolutely would. I don't blame Kings fans.

I'll say this, though: The Rangers win the cup the way the Kings did, and the main boards are spewing **** about how they didn't deserve it because of bad calls.

That's just how it is being a NY team.

I was rooting for the Rangers, and they did get jobbed by the refs on the Dwight King goalie interference penalty, but your OP suggestion is ridiculous. Overall the Rangers were beaten by the better team in this series. You can't win when you are constantly being outshot and outplayed. And if I remember correctly the Rangers were given 2, that's 2, powerplays in the final games overtimes and couldn't convert. LA received no powerplays. The Rangers hit posts and missed open nets. That's not Bettman's fault nor the refs. That falls directly on the players.

If the refs do their job, there is not OT this game. Are the refs supposed to NOT call blatant penalties after gifting the Kings a PP in the 3rd?

It is what it is. Same argument in G2. Rangers ****ed up in OT but the game should not have went to OT.

Not a conspiracy, but bad reffing shortened this series.

Can we not?

We had a great season and lost a close series to a wonderful hockey team.

Can't we just leave it at that?

here to say literally the exact same thing.

Yes it sucks more than anything has ever sucked and will ever suck but there was no inside job, no referee screw job, no bettman master plan. The kings were a better team, got a few (read: A LOT) of bounces to go their way, and the Rangers came up short.

The consensus is that Bettman favors big American markets.

He wouldn't have a bias against the Rangers. In fact, in his first full year as the commissioner of the NHL, the Rangers broke their 54-year drought. The Canucks-Rangers series had many calls arguably in favor of New York. A Stanley Cup for the Rangers on the 20th anniversary of their 1994 championship would have been a great storyline for the league.

TV revenue is important. This Stanley Cup Final brought together two of the biggest markets in the entire league. Bettman doesn't want a Phoenix-Florida series. Nobody would watch it.

So what you're saying is the refs only missed calling penalties on the Kings. They never missed any calls against the Rangers? The problem is the Rangers had the lead going into 3rd period of those games and then they sat back and tried to protect the lead. They hardly got any shots on net in the third of most of the games. You can't win when you're not getting any shots on the net.

Look, Bettman hates us and most of HFboards hates us, but the refs just plain suck. It's incompetence, not a conspiracy.

Sidenote: The universal Rangers hate amazes me. People find a way to blame us for everything. They blame the Rangers for spending too much money and thus causing the lockouts as if Florida/Phoenix/Carolina/etc would otherwise turn massive profits. They blame us for being boring even though we were really fun to watch this year under Vigneault. They blame us for Lundqvist being our best player as if having the best goalie in the world is somehow cheating. They blame us for getting lots of media attention as if it's novel for a team with a massive following to receive a large amount of coverage.

No. The refs missed equally as many calls on the Rangers as they did the Kings. Sure.

The problem is that the biggest call in the series, and arguably the most blatant (besides the Kings should've been delay of game penalty, but the Rangers should've killed off the PP) gave the Kings a free goal. Again, not a power play or something: they literally gifted the Kings a goal, when the Rangers were up 2 goals with 18 minutes to go in the 3rd period.

The Kings are a good team and will score goals. It's hard to beat them and the refs.

Series should never have been 3-0. Sorry.

I only believe in conspiracies when the Penguins are involved.

Pretty sure Bettman didn't give a **** if LA or NY won. It's the same thing to him. Same thing with the refs. They're just terrible.

The refs didn't make Nash fail to score on an open net.

The refs didn't make the Rangers snipe posts.

The refs didn't make the Rangers stop playing every 3rd period in this series.

Hate to say it but haters gonna hate. :sarcasm:

Everyone out there can hate on the Rangers, the important thing is that we love them.
