Biggest issue last two years was zero intensity and disinterest. They need to come out skating from the very first shift. If they allow the Islanders to set the tone shift 1, they will chase the entire series and likely lose.

This has to be a playoff hockey effort from shift 1.

The ugly truth is I think we'll play better in this situation without Geno.

He would have been cold and the 2nd line could have had poor chemistry and giveaways.

It's a matinee game after a week layoff, where the Pens just need to not get scored on for the first 10 mins, and get their feet under them. After that they should be ok.

Honestly, with no Malkin, these lines are just about perfect. Thank GOD for Carter coming in and absolutely crushing it. We would be seriously hurting without him, IMO. I actually like that 2nd line, they have good chemistry. Not many teams have a 4th line that can suffocate the game like BART can. And unlike in the last few years, that third line isn't just a mish-mash of everyone else. I dig it
