GDT: The Push for the playoffs continues, Long Island Fishermans @ Pens. 7pm

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Except...this whole premise falls apart when we remember the Pens traded the Robin to Crosby's Batman last year.

If stat chasing for Sid were all that mattered, Guentzel never would have been dealt.

Clearly there were other factors at play for Rakell.

This and the unwillingness to sign pettersson is what sold me that Dubas is tanking and just bullshitting to keep asses in seats. Not trading a guy you don’t have to trade isn’t a sign of not tanking. We could’ve found an extra 4 million to sign both guys but instead we traded them for guys that we’ve since moved and futures. You don’t have to bottom out the very second you decide to tank, especially when you have Sid and Geno. Every move has been to make us worse right now and better in 3+ years, the next two years are the ideal time to bottom out. Watch him trade rakell and or EK before the next deadline.

Until he makes a move like signing a high end free agent or giving up picks for high end veterans we’re tanking, no matter what he says to the media.

The penguins problems the last few years has been coaching and goaltending. That’s it.
It goes far beyond that. The core is aging out and secondary scoring with little in the pipeline to help prop up the aging core is also a problem.

Coach not coaching to minimize effects of players that are aging out

Coach not coaching defensive zone coverage leaving goalies out to dry

It's as simple as that
