Also, keep in mind our elimination number goes down with every regulation loss. If we lose our next game, then we're eliminated as soon as a team hits 88 points. Lose another, it's 86. etc.

Unfortunately every team we want to try and catch has a harder remaining schedule than us except for the Flyers.

Who knows how that shakes out down the stretch though. Maybe some of these elite teams lose to the Buffalos of the world due to not giving as much of a shit due to having things locked up.

Difference is Kraken and Sabres players are either playing to get a contract or get out of those markets.

Dubas and Sullivan will just re-sign have these guys or keep them regardless of what they do here.

The Penguins since 2018-19 have been entirely built around the Crosby line scoring and the rest of the roster just existing.

Ovechkin is currently playing second fiddle so his team can win.

This isn’t Crosby’s fault. But Ovi has been the much more impressive player over the last 5 years in my honest opinion. Sid will go down as the better player, but Mike Sullivan has honestly been too focused on Sid over the team. Guarantee he wouldn’t have made the moves Cooper did to win 4 nations regarding Sid’s usage.

I haven’t eaten a hot dog at a sporting event or movie theatre….ever, AFAIK.

Before COVID, when I used to go to Kitchener Rangers OHL games here n there, the Mrs. would get me a red candy apple or two after the game. :)

Then our arena got rid of the candy apple/beer nuts guy and his Oktoberfest themed tent a few years ago.

It really isn’t.

It’s a moderate take not influenced by being Canadian.

Ovechkin has missed the playoffs once since his cup.

Sid will be three years in a row now.

Ovi has won multiple Rockets.

Sid has a 5th place point finish in points

It doesn’t take away from Sid’s overall ranking. But Crosby has largely played on a better team up until this year. Caps have been the better team and Ovi has been the more impactful player.
