This is how you battle harden them thoughBrutal day for my puppy today. First time he's in the crate not at night because my wife is at the doc and I am in an all-day deposition. Little dude been barking and howling it's breaking my heart

Yeah, usually I'm in the house with them though! And my other dog just sat downstairs barking the whole time. Luckily though he's out and about now that my wife his home! This is how you battle harden them though
Yea my previous golden had seizures when he was younger, but she had never had one before and to be honest, I don't know how it affected her. She couldn't walk after it and was desperately trying to get up over and over.I am so sorry.
Seizures are scary, too
My first family dog had a grand mal seizure when he was 17. And then a few more in short order. It seemed to permanently affect him neurologically -- plausibly it was a tumor, with a couple other symptoms -- and we made the decision not long after.
My next family dog (same breed) was 9-10 when she started getting repeated seizures. We thought the obvious. She had an MRI, spinal tap, the works. It turned out she had a case of late onset epilepsy. She had a lot of seizures before she found the right prescriptions. Truly, it doesn't get easier watching it happen, but she was a trooper. She didn't have another seizure (her last) until she was 16 or 17. By that point, she was dealing with some senility, blindness, deafness. She didn't seem to be recovering after, which was a far cry from years before. I still remember her screaming on the car ride to the emergency clinic. Worst 15 minute drive of my life, and I can't even imagine her confusion. Mentally prepared for that to be the end, but she did actually snap out of it.
I had a stray Irish setter show up at my house on Saturday. She got locked in my kennel outside. CRIED the entire time I left her alone. I feel ya. Found the owner after a full day. My GSD was quite unhappy with a guest.Brutal day for my puppy today. First time he's in the crate not at night because my wife is at the doc and I am in an all-day deposition.
