How is it possible that Howden gets back in the top-9 after playing absolute dog-shit for weeks before his injury, and Lias is a healthy scratch for no reason other than "Someone has to sit" (Literally Quinn's words)? Howden has an incredibly long leash. It's crazy.

On paper, I don't see anything wrong with Toronto's defense.

I think the issue is more so that their forwards don't play any at all.

It seems that undrafted players (that are in the NHL/AHL) tend to struggle in the corsi and advanced metrics department, but this is based on zero research and just my observations.

They get more immediate burn when they aren't fully formed NHL players on worse teams because the teams are worse in general.

Like I've always said, out of Chytil/Lias/Howden, Howden is easily the worst player of the three right now and the worst prospect of the three right now, but he gets the most trust.

The first words out of anyone's mouth when describing Howden are "works hard."
