I'll give him one other thing: I definitely hate Skjei more.

Pionk drives me crazy but he drives me crazy because he's trying to do things.

Brady Skjei does nothing. He is nothing. Generic Hockey Guy. John Doe. If he died on the ice, I wouldn't notice until Jimmy Vesey (and it would definitely be Vesey) tripped over his body - a body that would likely put up the same statistics.

Shatty has been terrible. I don't know if he's playing injured but he needs to either sit out or get traded. He's a waste of cap space with his lack of production this year and a complete defensive liability (which is okay to an extent if you put up points).

If he’s been playing injured he has been hurt since he put on a Rangers sweater. Such a disappointment. I Remember when I was excited when he was coming here.

Skjei fooled everyone with his rookie season. There is reason whatsoever for him to not be available, especially with the dumb contract he was given.

Is that Cage gif "after a win, or loss"? Just curious. For me, that is usually how I react to both and after just about every goal for, and against. Well, i won't lie......not this year though.
Oh and btw, the "powerhouse" would be Vegas.......not the Rangers for sure. Lmao.

Looking at the chances of Hughes after trading Hayes, Zucc, Fast and Mcquaid.

You know what would be worse? Okay, won't make anyone suffer for the answer. Not trading them, and still being last.
At least they woukd have ssome kind of "built in" excuse. "Well, we were 17-17-7 before.......we traded some of our best players. Lol. Actually, not so funny.

Imagine the poor person who won the MSG contest to see this game and have an all expenses paid trip’s Thoughts about this one?!? Even the free trip to Vegas costs this person his or her sanity!

In all honestly, I’ve been to Vegas to see a game. It is a tremendous place to watch a hockey game!

I'd stay at the tables.

Pionk has been improving a lot within this season, and it's apparent at how his rolling trajectories for shot shares and xGF have been actually been improving all season. They're still not great, but it's much more palatable when he's at -2.9 relCF% compared to -9.8 relCF%. His biggest problem is actually producing offense at 5v5, where it's been essentially nonexistent for him. He has 6 5v5 points this season, 2 of which are goals and his only primary points. He shouldn't have fewer primary points than Freddy Claesson.

I'll take the big leap in improvement and hope he keeps rolling with it. I thought he was total crap from October-mid November, so I'll gladly take this recent stretch. All-in-all, I still see our defensive corps as a group of guys that are all overslotted from where they should actually be in the lineup. This defense has a long way to go, and I hope they don't hinder the progress that the forwards make in the future.

The defense still makes way too many basic mistakes on plays that should be second-hand knowledge to our guys midway through the season. It's not groundbreaking stuff to be in proper positioning for your partner and making lateral passes under no pressure. They're not thinking the pace of the game well at all.
It's non existent 5v5 because he caves at the slightest pressure. On the PP he has more room. He's not a great puck manager either and doesn't make the good first pass out.

Kind of like you have kings high full house, but your buddy has aces up (for sure), feels like you may win........there's a chance you may win, but......sure enough, he pulls that ace.
And you're first thought is......

And on top of that Skjei has looked cool as a clam as he’s played like absolute shit.

He has been better 5v5, I'll give him that.

He should never kill a penalty again.

The latter is on the coach. He needs to see that Pionk lacks an aptitude for killing penalties. Maybe, though, Quinn thinks that PKing could improve Pionk’s overall defensive game 5v5. By analogy: even the best soldiers will lose a battle if deployed incorrectly.
