Overall I've liked what Quinn has done, but I have to say, it's pretty sad to see that many people on this board had better insight into what would likely happen should Pionk's minutes be removed and given to ADA.

I mean, on the one hand I'm not that surprised because it seemed obvious, on the other, not a good look that a coach couldn't even be bothered to try something new for half the season.

It was so obvious Pionk shouldn't be in that position, especially with a superior player sitting on the bench every night.

A little bit of both worlds would be......."okay Zuccha, the rumors are true and we have to do diligence here......but if you really want to come back, we will give you a fair deal and maybe we will give you that "C" that you deserve.

Wishful thinking there as well. Yes, I love Zuccha as much as anyone, but I love the Rangers more. We HAVE TO do this.

Interesting take on it. I agree. I wouldn't just take "anything" for the guy in return. He is a very SOLID human being and teammate, no denying that. But, if we can get at least a 2nd for him, i think we would have to take it. Next years draft is going to be loaded with good prospects......

Boston really has got to be kicking themselves in the rear for not keeping him. Their defense could've used him, and something missing in the locker room. We just might get that 2nd and woukd be ironic if it were from Boston. Seriously.

Everybody's games back there have stabilized. Credit Lindgren also for whatever calming effect he's had on Shattenkirk

It's just further cementing the fact that most of this board has been pulling for. DeAngelo has IT, he's nearly ready, it's about time the staff realized his shortcomings and worked with those shortcomings, rather then trying to burn the offense out of him becuz defence...

Was funny how they quieted down after that overhead replay clearly showed Chytil on a path to avoid collision until McAvoy came barreling into him

If that was Chytil's fault then you may as well abolish any kind of drives to the net

I’ve been highly critical of his treatment this year but I’ll tel you what, he has responded every single time. He continues to improve his game. If it took benching him a couple times to get here it’s good.

Remember Zucc was a tweener, too small and not skilled enough to stay in the lineup. AV sat him down and said get your shit together or you’ll be playing in Norway the rest of your life. Zucc responded and has made himself into the best Norwegian born hockey player in history.

Quinn and Ruff did the same with DeAngelo and he’s worked on his craft and is better for it. He’s quickly becoming our best defenseman, if he isn’t already.

It would have been nice if they apologized on air. But I guess quieting down will do.

Definitely doesn't seem like it has hurt him... I was honestly a little worried he'd handle the adversity negatively, but he's proven me wrong

Now comes the big test... sustaining this type of player over the long term. I'm a bit apprehensive, but hoping he proves me wrong once again

And agree, he's a better than Pionk and his upside drastically higher. To me I think Pionk already hit his upside and it's a seriously mixed bag, unfortunately

We need more patience? The coach is the one force feeding him top pairing duties when he’s not ready for it. He should be developing him at a slower pace on the third pair maybe second pp mins some pk. Forcing him into mins he’s not ready for is the opposite of patience and could actually burn him out if anything. I don’t have issues with the kid I have issues with the coaches usage of him over a better player.

This is essentially what Rick Nash was. He burned so many people wide that they had to respect that and it opened so much space for him. And he was great at taking it wide and to the net so when it was there he’d take it and when they’d cheat to cover that he’d cut inside or look for a trailer.
