This team is light years better when Pionk isn’t out there 25 mins a night getting rag dolled.

If we want to get back to the tank stick him back into deAngelos spot.

That was an awesome game by our boys on the road.
I like Pionk but yeah, I’m coming around to this thinking. But I appreciate Quinn working on developing him. Same with Howden. These guys may still turn out to be consistent. They’re just not there yet.

With his speed and reach he can make a career out of taking guys out wide and bringing it back in towards the net like that. Do it enough guys are gonna get larger gaps on you.

Larger gaps means all sorts of assist opportunities.

A decent player by the name of Marian Hossa was a master of going wide with speed and then powering to the net. He had an alright career.

This is essentially what Rick Nash was. He burned so many people wide that they had to respect that and it opened so much space for him. And he was great at taking it wide and to the net so when it was there he’d take it and when they’d cheat to cover that he’d cut inside or look for a trailer.

If you don't start playing better, we're going to trade you to Ottawa.

Its clear he's getting moved, the only guy who has even hinted at him possibly staying (Freidman) has backed off of that and came out and said that hes flat out getting moved.

This best play stuff is over stated. Bunch of secondary assists, weak goals/tap ins/kick ins doesn't make for best hockey of his career. It looks that way because of how putrid he was before, but hes been more opportunistic than anything. He's played better for sure, but it looks to me like a guy who has accepted his fate. Good for him, but he shouldn't have been moping to begin with.

I'm pretty sure he gets traded, don't worry. It's best for all anyway, Zucc definitely goes to the playoffs, Rangers get a nice piece or two in return.

But...they may have talked about a possible new (capfriendly) deal when he becomes a UFA. That's what I think

I’d love that. But usually when a player gets traded he doesn’t come back as a free agent. Zucc may be an unusual case. But most likely that ship will have sailed. If they want to have him back next year they ought to just re-sign him now. (At least that’s what I’d say were I Zucc or his agent).

As Chytil skated hard toward the net from the right, McAvoy stepped in his path.
"I think contact there is unavoidable," McAvoy said.
The defenseman said he wasn't sure what part he played in the contact, believing Chytil would have hit Rask no matter what he did.
"I think it turned into really a 2-on-1 and I tried to just take away the pass," McAvoy said. "He brought it to the net and he jumps there. I had two hands on my stick. I don't feel like I shoved him at all. Just unfortunate. It [stinks]. You hate to see it. Obviously Tuukka's a huge part of our team."

Yeah, ok Charlie.

There's a thing called video. He should review it.

There is no f***ing way he's coming back. lol

Maybe Chytil didn’t get the memo explaining the Bruins are the better team and deference must be paid. “Why didn’t he just stop and hand us the puck?!”

dont think zuccs coming back as an FA if we trade him. its unfortunate because hes imo the perfect 2nd option should we not be able to sign panarin.

i say perfect because him kreider and zibby have been dynamite and that would allow some pretty cool line combos. zucc would take 5.5 where panarin would take 9.5-10-.5

could sign a LW free agent or defenseman with the cap saved.

wont happen, but a cool possibility to think about.

saw highlights, chytils goal was wow. looks really good on wing which is scary for his prospects as a center, but its good hes getting comfortable.

ADA looked great once again. didnt see staal on any highlights, which is a good thing because it means he mustve played another solid defensive game.

Overall I've liked what Quinn has done, but I have to say, it's pretty sad to see that many people on this board had better insight into what would likely happen should Pionk's minutes be removed and given to ADA.

I mean, on the one hand I'm not that surprised because it seemed obvious, on the other, not a good look that a coach couldn't even be bothered to try something new for half the season.

It was so obvious Pionk shouldn't be in that position, especially with a superior player sitting on the bench every night.

Another win with ADA in the lineup. Someone already posted our record with him in... it’s absolutely crazy. How do you not consider him one of our more important players when he’s that correlated to winning.

What’s the record now with ADA in the line up? I had to silence some Tampa fans(who have become overly annoying and arrogant this season) earlier this season who were bashing ADA.

It's like 19-8.

If we had that record with Cody McLeod we'd never hear the end of it.
Bizarrely it was like that for a while (Cody became a mainstay in the lineup at the start of the first winning streak and got injured at the end of it). The trend did not continue after he returned from injury though.

The Rangers are 17-11 when McLeod plays. He needs to play every game :sarcasm:

Love seeing that Zibby/Kreider connection on the PP. So hard to stop that shot. Happy to see DeAngelo playing so well and getting the time he deserves. Looks like he's finally out of the doghouse and did whatever he had to do in practice or off the ice. Seeing Zucc play well is bitter sweet. Will miss him when he's traded but at least he's upping his value.

And of course Henrik <3

Wow, DeAngelo played 19:04 5v5 minutes.

Edit: Only other skater even remotely close was Staal @ 18:22. Next highest are 15:52...15:09...and so on.
That's awesome......but you know what? Someday (maybe not soon) he will be relied upon on the PK. If he EVER has the chance he would be a lethal weapon in trying to get shorthanded goals. His skating and passing abilities easily could catch PP teams with their pants down. Look how Boston seemed somewhat inept on their PP, and it honestly looked as if the Rangers would get a shortie. ADA would be good there, but like I said.......someday.
